Vance C. Gallagher

GALLAGHER, VANCE C., 90, - of Somers Point, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at his daughter's home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was formerly of Ocean City, and a resident of Somers Point since March 2006. Mr. Gallagher worked as an Electronic Engineer for NAFAC in Pomona, and formerly for the Naval Research Lab in Washington, DC for 35 years before his retirement in 1973. He was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Ocean City where he served as treasurer for 17 years, a member of the Ham Radio Club, Ocean City, and served as a Volunteer Fireman in Pineville, PA. Mr. Gallagher enjoyed golfing with his wife, and enjoyed his family and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Miriam B. Gallagher, (nee Bates) of Somers Point, one son, Richard Gallagher and his wife Sue of Indianapolis, IN, one daughter, Joann M. Maymon and her husband Mark of Somers Point, six grandchildren, Amy, Laura, Michael, Rebecca, Alison, many nieces and nephews, a brother, Robert Gallagher of PA, two sisters, Betty Buder and her husband Spurge of Moorestown, and Ethel Muller of PA. He was the beloved father of the late Bruce Gallagher. A Service of Memory and Love will be offered Monday morning at 11 o'clock from The Godfrey Funeral Home, 809 Central Avenue, Ocean City, where friends may call from ten o'clock until the time of service.
