Nicholas "Nic" Avrami

AVRAMI, NICHOLAS "NIC", 84, - of New York City, passed away on August 6, 2008. Born and raised in Atlantic City, Nic resided in Manhattan for over 50 years. After serving with the US Marine Corps during World War II, he trained as an interior designer and worked for many years with the firm of Michael Greer. In later years, he designed hats for the milliner Frank Olive and pursued a side career in television and film acting. He also served as an auxiliary police officer in New York City's Central Park for over 20 years. Nic was preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Louis and Skender. He is survived by his nephew Louis of Morristown, and his nieces Nicole Blomfield and Erica, both of Summit, three great-nieces Alexandra, Kendall, and Lara Blomfield, and his great-nephew Harry Avrami Saroff. He is also survived by his cousins, Lillian Male of Atlantic City and Shirley Moberg of Mountainside. A private burial is planned by the family.
