McCARTEN, KIMBERLY, 12 - of Huntsville, AL, passed away on August 7, 2008. She is survived by her mother, Loretta Largo (Frank) of Huntsville, Alabama and her father, Chester Shingle of Egg Harbor Township. A Service of Remembrance will be observed on Monday, August 11, 2008 along with her grandmother's. Service at 11:00 AM at Wimberg Funeral Home, 211 E. Great Creek Rd., Galloway. I have been thinking recently of you and how my daughter loved you and your sister, Courtney. These days it is only Courtney and Rosie, but I know that your passing has left a void in Rosie's world. She has reached to Christ to fill it, praise God for that! She will carry the light of Jesus to the world and share the story of you, and Courtney, and the miracles that Jesus promises. I know she is looking forward to the great day of resurrection, when you will be restored ... and when all tears and memories of your loss will be wiped away in heaven.

To Kimberly's family and loved ones, May you feel the comfort of GOD'S love in your hour of tremendous pain. I hope this poem I wrote when Sonny told me of this terrible tragic loss can help you all to deal with this harsh reality.
ALREADY THERE
When loved ones leave for Heaven's gate, some think it just a twist of fate.
But once we've seen the ugliness of sin and how it ruined the world we live in.
We have learned only GOD'S way is right. HE'S given us knowledge and precious insight.
We then know the things we were sent here to see, the truth of HIS word that sets our souls free.
Some see this quickly but most need more time, to see HIS truth, know HIS mercy sublime!
How bitter is sin and it's every evil vice! Thank YOU LORD JESUS for paying it's price!
Our loved ones departed safe under FATHER'S rule, while all the rest of us continue in school.
So take comfort knowing they are in GOD's care, though we remain they are already there!

You may not remember me, Loretta. However, I grew up with your two nieces that use to live next door to your mother. I've been playing with your twin girls as early as they were 3, and I was 10. Your other daughter, Crystal, I've been playing with for a longer period.
I'm in complete and utter shock at the situation that unfolded. Your mother, your brother, your nieces...even your daughters were all like family to me.
I've been praying for your family, as well as trying my best attempt to get everyone I know to join in prayers. My sister and I were on the phone with Brenda on and off during the first few hours after the attack trying to keep updated on the situation.
You have my deepest prayers and thoughts. I apologize I was not at the funeral for your mother(however, my sister was). Kimberly has always been such a pleasure to be around.
Rest in peace Kimberly and Loretta...You will always be in my prayers. I will never forget the kindness shown, and the memories shared from my childhood.

but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived
okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here
is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.

every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up
and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were
gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for
me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's
chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life
on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not
be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But
one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a
time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will
give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day
was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the
way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick
him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in
your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember
you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
