Francine Ramsey Obituary

RAMSEY, FRANCINE ELEANORA, 51 - departed this life unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 5, 2008. She was a lifelong resident of Atlantic City where she attended the public schools. She graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1975. From there, she attended Kean University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Commercial and Fine Arts. Francine was a former employee of the Golden Nugget and Bally Park Place Casinos as a sales manager. At the time of her passing, Francine had completed 17 years as a teacher for the Atlantic City Board of Education. She gave of her talents as a 4th grade teacher at New Jersey Avenue Elementary School. Francine truly believed that all children deserve an opportunity to receive a good education. She thrived on seeing her students succeed. Teaching was not just a profession for Francine, but a calling and a true passion. Preceding her in death was her mother, Fraizadelle H. Ramsey. She is survived by her father, Norman P. Ramsey; sisters, Fraizadelle Ramsey-Crawley (Larry) of Roselle, and Colleen Ramsey of Durham, NC; nephews, Lawrence and Morgan Crawley of Roselle; a close and special family friend, Brenda Carter of Pleasantville; and a host of family and friends. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Monday, August 11, 2008, at Union Baptist Temple, Pennsylvania and Drexel Avenues, Atlantic City where friends may call from 9 AM. Interment will follow the services at Greenwood Cemetery in Pleasantville. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Home of Atlantic City.

Dearest Ramsey Family: My heart is broken to know that Francine is no longer physically with us. Always quick witted, supportive and caring. The consumate teacher in and out of the classroom...oftentimes our rock. My husband and I will miss her greatly. Just glad I had the chance to share a bit of time with her in June.
