"Special K" was a special friend and person.I worked with Karen for over 20 years. She gave me lots of laughter and headaches as her supervisor. I talked to "Special K" often and she still made me laugh. My heart goes out to the family for your loss. No one one knows how you feel until they have walked in your shoes.

Dear Delores, Stacey, Brian, Poodie, Mary, Bubba and Sandy,
You all know how much Karen meant to me; we had more fun than people should ever have while we were "working." Oh, how we laughed! What a talent she was and what a warm and caring woman to the men and to the staff. She was the very best Tina Turner ever, even better than the woman herself! We all "grew up together" at WDC. She loved all of you so much and loved those grandbabies of hers. You know that she was very proud of her children. I miss her and will miss her for a long time. On behalf of Sharon, Debbie and my girl, Krista, I send my condolences and love. Take care, Judy "Ruff" Kulp

To the family,
We worked with Karen for over ten years. She was a joy to be around. I can still see her dancing around in her tap shoes, with that funny smile. She will be missed, both on the job and in our hearts. But her presence will always be felt.
With Love,

I know, you know "Ms. K" was "Ms. K". She lived her life loud she lived her life free. The love she had in her heart for her fellow person was endless and without boundries. When she made up her mind to love you she did just that. My children grew to love her. Defintley my 3rd son, being he felt the need to leave the house @ 3am to go see her and have their talk which verbally was more "Ms. K" being he was only 2 1/2. But she didn't mind because that was her.And "Ms. K" just loved him up and marched him back over. And her "Tiger-Man" says he always remember when she brought him over his first tiger tail and ears. Just know our love is with you all. My prayer is that you would be in peace and know God is too wise to make any mistakes. Love you guys.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived
okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here
is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you
every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up
and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were
gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for
me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's
chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life
on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not
be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But
one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a
time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will
give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day
was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the
way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick
him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in
your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember
you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

My first encounters with "K", I thought "K" meant "killa", because she was definitely tough. I'm glad I got to know her. I loved her and I love her family. I'm honored to be one of the fortunate ones to witness "The Retirement Dance".

A PROMISE
We sat and talked for hours
you rule the conversation some nights, me the other
Sharing information, promising never to tell; about intimate relationship, family and close friends
I won't tell, I promised
And now you're leaving, you're going away soon
We'll see each other again, I just can't say when
We sat and talked the other night
you thanked me for always being there for you
You told me never to forget
no matter what;
for I gave to you without question
why
You've become my best friend; my sister
I gave and I give with love from my heart (to you)
And now your leaving me, you're
going away soon
I won't forget, I promise
You will always be in my heart Ka!

To the Entire Family
My heart aches. Although I understand that Karen's life will always be a part of us even in her passing, it's difficult to comprehend. Whenever we ran into each other, Karen had a smile, an old Woodbine story and a hearty laugh. Karen was full of Love and Wisdom. I pray that everyone will be able to walk in the Peace of God through the grieving process. I'm going to miss our times of reminiscing.
