Frances Foss Obituary



FOSS, FRANCES R. (NEE IRELAND) 92 - went home to be with Jesus on August 7th, 2008 at Woodview Estates Assisted Living. She was the beloved wife of the late John S. Foss. Born in Atlantic City to Margaret and Ruben Ireland, she resided in Pleasantville for many years. She then moved to Linwood and resided there for 22 years. She had the privilege of living her last three years in Woodview Estates. Frances was a bookkeeper in Atlantic City for 30 years. She was an avid reader and had an incredible ability to do difficult crossword puzzles well into her 90s. Frances was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, taking many trips across the country. She loved her long visits with Kathy in PA, Dave on Sunday, John's three children, and Wednesday with Chrissy and Jackie. She is predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her devoted sons: John (Kathryn), of Linwood, and David (Betty), of Pleasantville; her six grandchildren: Kathy (Jim) Lilly, John, Christine (Anthony) Hess, Guy (Karen) Foss, Daniel (Anita) Foss, and Jenny (Jerry) Salomone; her nine great grandchildren: Katie, Taylor, John, Alyssa, Dane, Jack, Matthew, Audra and David. She is also survived by her wonderful caregivers at Woodview. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 13th, and will be private as Frances requested. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Pleasantville. Memorial gifts can be made to the Salvation Army, 22 South Texas Ave., Atlantic City, NJ 08401.
