I have such fond memories of the Peddicords and Dee was such a great person. She always welcomed us kids into her house and I will never forget that. I grew up in that house. My weekends were spent sleeping over and watching cheesy "B" movies with Genene and the family. I'm am so sorry for your loss and you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure Dee is in a peaceful place. I believe that because my father is there as well. I lost my father to lung cancer in April so i know this is a tough time. Stay strong as a family and be there for each other. If there is anything I can do please let me know. Take care of yourselves.

Dear Gene, Genene, Dianna, Chris and Kelli,
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this sad time. I have fond memories of Dee that go back to our Ventnor softball days. I can remember going over to the house after softball games (still in uniform) to spend the night and driving Dee crazy. What a blast that was! She was always so patient and welcomed all of us kids into her home. Dee was a great person and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

My mom played many roles throughout her life. She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, an aunt, a grandmother and a devoted friend. The best role she played was that of our mom. So much of who we are as her children is a mirror reflection of her. My mom had four children and a husband to guide through life. Her and my dad, through good times and bad had such an indescribable bond. They took turns carrying each other through life and were never doubtful of their lives together. I take pride in saying that i had a great best friend and she was my mom. I trusted her with every aspect of my life, and while at times i didnt understand, her guidence was never wrong. Chris was the good boy. He developed her same work ethic and she had the upmost respect for him. Genene gave my mom the greatest gift- a granddaughter. Nikki became the apple of my moms eye and brought her and genene closer on a mother- to- mother level that my mom cherished. And last but never least Dianna. Dianns is the gold trophey my mom dusted daily and boasted up constantly. They had a remarkable relationship that many would envy. My moms devotion to her family was extraordinary. She rarely made time for herself as she was always focusin on our needs. We were well cared for and well loved, and as far as she was concerned there were no bounds to our dreams. At times, we may have disagreed with her but she was never afraid to make her opinions heard. She guided us well and allowed each of us to grow into our own personality. She loved with love not by force. Anyone who knew my mom, really knew her. She spoke to everyone and wore her heart on her sleeve. She helped anyway she could and was always great for an infectious smile if she had nothing left to offer. People didnt come to Island Subs to eat, they came to see "Dee" and for the time she wasnt there. it was too quiet and people didnt like that. I cant remember a time when she wasnt pushing herself above and beyond. Regardless of any obstacle, one of the things that will always make me proud of her is that she had unrelentless perserverance and the ability to forge ahead no matter what life dealt her, a trait that she held dearly until the very end. I LOVE YOU MOM WITH ALL MY HEART AND IM GOING TO MISS YOU SO MUCH. "MUAH" (fish kisses)

I grew up down the street from the Peddicords on Dudley Ave. Dee put up with a yard full of kids night after night. Of course we were loud and obnoxious. Just when we thought we could get away with something...Dee caught us. She was always fair with us. Unfortunatley for her and Mr.P we always felt welcomed back. Thank you Dee for putting up with us. Those were some of the best nights of my childhood. I know alot of other Kids feel the same way I do.
Just like everyone else on this island Dee served me breakfast everyday at annettes. A bunch of us would come in. The same kids she kicked out of her yard every night. Now we were young adults that were still loud and obnoxious. True to form Dee with her sharp wit and great sense of humor would serve us breakfast yell at us for not finishing it and send us on our way with a great feeling of belonging and warmth. Dee I will miss you dearly. My heart, prayers, and thoughts are with you and your family.

Years can pass before the impact a person & a family has on an individual comes to fruition. My home like yours is the one children seem to gravitate to. Your door was always open to the band of misfits as one,Thank You for everything.
Be at Peace,

1966. I was the new kid in town - a new school for my Senior year. Dee must've sensed how scary that was for me and immediately befrended me, making my Senior year the best year of my high school days! Visiting her house was always chaotic and full of kids - whether it was in those teen years at her mom Mary's house with all her brothers & friends (oh how happy she was, Kathy, when she finally had a little sister!!!!) cheering on all the football teams, or at her own home when she filled it up with her own brood. Sarcasm was Dee's language of love and boy did she love a lot of us (especially you Gene)!! Mary, Kathy, Joey, John, Jimmy, Genene, Dianna, Kelli, Chris and Gene -hold on to each other in love - that's what will make her so proud - to live out her legacy of laughter, hard work, and good times spent with family & friends. And be happy for her knowing she's having the best of times with Jesus her Saviour. And soon we'll be dancing with them both!!
