Dear Dee:
I just received notice of Paul's death from a friend of ours in Las Vegas. He is originally from Margate and knew of our working relationship and personal friendship with you and Paul.

We are deeply saddened by this news. I am so grateful that I was able to visit with you both 3 years ago when I returned to NJ for a family issue.

Our years in AC, part of which were as partners with Paul at Land of Oz, is what cemented our friendship. After the loss of the business at Land of Oz, it was Paul who helped me secure a position with an architect from San Francisco working on a project at Caesars. That job ultimately led to my employment with a Las Vegas construction firm, and resulted in my transfer to beautiful Carlsbad, CA.

Paul was always available to listen, give sage advice, had a quick wit, was very straightforward, and embodied the qualities of a true friend. We feel blessed that he came into our lives - and we were able to meet you, Dee.

Please know our thoughts are with you and we all share cherished memories of Paul.

The beautiful tribute to Paul brought back memories that will always remain fresh in our hearts. His wit still causes a chuckle with his perceptive characterization of a husband and wife as a "load of laugh." He'll be sadly missed.

I am saddened to hear that Mr. S. is no longer with us. He was a good friend and mentor to me and played a very important role in my life. Although I have lost touch with him in recent years, he has always held a special place in my heart and will continue to do so. His passing brings forth a rush of memories of his quick witted humor, his easygoing nature, his love for his family and willingness to always lend a hand wherever it was needed. Our walks on the boardwalk to collect rent and pizza lunches are special memories that I will forever cherish.

While I know that he is in a better place and is healthy and whole again, it is the people who loved him that are suffering now. I extend my deepest condolences to Dee, Paulette, Suzanne and their families. My thoughts, prayers and love are with you.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.

I worked at the Steel Pier when Paul was there. He was a true gentleman and kindhearted person.
