Deborah Dixon Obituary



DIXON, DEBORAH 61, - of Millville, died August 10, 2008 following complications of cancer at Kindred Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Born on December 15, 1946 in Newark, to Edward and Alberta Dixon, she attended most of her elementary and middle schools years in Amberg Germany. She attended three high schools, Nurnberg Germany, Killeen Texas and graduated from Vineland High School in 1964. She was employed for 22 years at the Vineland Developmental Center where she held many positions ending her career there as Cottage Training Supervisor. Debbie spent several years in Maryland, working with the mentally challenged at Great Oaks Center in Beltsville, Maryland. Debbie enjoyed life. She loved to dance, sing, listen to music, and watch sci-fi movies and travel. She loved going to Atlantic City and visiting the casinos. Debbie was a friend to many and always willing to help those in need. Those who knew understood her kind heart and generous spirit. Her grea joy was her son Phillip Dixon; She was a proud mother who also wanted the best for her child. Debbie attended many churches and had a strong spiritual life. She was a lay pastor at Trinity Fellowship. Her parents Edward and Alberta Dixon predeceased Debbie. She is survived by her son Phillip M. Dixon, her twin sister, Diane Alexander, her brothers, Robert T. Dixon, Richard E. Dixon, Kenneth R. Dixon, her nieces, Diana Hall, Tracey Alexander Langley, Krystal R. Dixon, Nancy E. Dixon, Stephanie E. Dixon, her nephew Mark V. Alexander II, her aunts Rosemarie Guilford, Janet Pumphrey, and Ethel Maddox, her uncles, Jerome Robinson and Robert Robinson, great-niece, Siani Hall and great-nephew, Nathan Dixon. Debbie will be missed by a host of cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30am at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 1019 E Landis Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery. Friends will be received on Saturday from 9am to 10:30am at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to www.dlfuneral.com

I am so sorry to hear about Debbie. I met her when I was in High School about 14-15 years ago. I worked at Friendly's in the Cumberland Mall. She would always come in for a cup of coffee before she went to work. Years later she became friendly with my family. Phillip my thoughts are with you. You were her everything.
