Clement Hopkins Obituary
HOPKINS, CLEMENT L. "BUDDY", 48, - of Atlantic City, departed this life on Monday, August 11, 2008, in Manahawkin. He was born in Atlantic City and attended the local public school system. Clement was employed as a carpenter and would work periodically for Darden Construction Company. He was a former member of Second Baptist Church, Atlantic City. He was predeceased by his father, Dupree Moore. Survivors: His sons, Dupree Hicks and his wife, Kelley of Sicklerville, Lamar Hason of Pleasantville, Clement Byrd and his wife, Nodica of Maryland and Gregory Baker of Atlantic City; His daughter, Magan of Atlantic City; His mother, Almeader Barksdale of Atlantic City; His wife, Sharon Hopkins of Mays Landing; His companion, Gloria Spriggs of Maryland; His brothers, Abdullah Abu Barker and Andrey Hopkins of Atlantic City; His sisters, Kim Hopkins of Galloway, Carmille Holliday of Pleasantville and Rachel Hopkins of Atlantic City; His step-children, Ibn and Aeesha; nine grandchildren, a host of other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 11 a.m. in New Hope Baptist Church, 704 Lexington Ave., Atlantic City, where friends may view from 9 a.m. Please sign guest book at Legacy.com or email: [email protected]

To Ms. Almeda, Wade and Family
Aside from being one of my big brothers, Buddy was a terrific friend. He was and will always be remebered by the Perry Family as one of the best people we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I still have pictures of us a children in our Easter Sunday best. He is dearly missed.

To the family: It's hard to believe that another close friend has gone on .but don't be sad rejoice in knowing that the pain is over. my family has known buddy since we were kids. I met buddy through [baby]Miller in grade school. Sorry I was not able to see him off .But i know he's probability building something in heaven and jamming with god and some of our other friends that have gone on to glory. May peace and joy fill your hearts with all the good time we had.

To Miss Almeda and family,
I have known Buddy for many years. All of us were dear childhood friends and neighbors in AC for over 20 years while living on Emerson Avenue on the westside, with our Miss Joyce, Miss Almeda, Ms. Kim, Mrs. Brenda, and our block mom and clean-up lady, Ms. Jackie Mixon. Miss Almeda (as we call her) and my mom were very good friends for many years. Buddy will be missed, he was one of the funniest guys you could meet, the whole family are good people.
We are praying for you during this time.
