Anthony Cournoyer Obituary



COURNOYER, ANTHONY T., 85, - of Margate, passed away August 13, 2008 at The Shore Memorial. Hospital in Somers Point. He was born on May 16, 1923 in Providence, Rhode Island. He was a resident of the Galloway Township area for many years and later ventured over to Margate for his later years with his wife Betty. Tony was the owner of his business, Interiors By Anthony for a long stretch of fifty years throughout the Atlantic County area, He also worked at the Atlantic City Race Track in which he loved the racing of horses. He was a dedicated, active member of St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Church where he was an usher. Also, Tony was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also served four years as a Merchant. Marine during World War II in England and Italy. Surviving are his loving wife Elizabeth, his two sons who will miss him dearly Anthony and Thomas, as well as his grandchildren who truly adored 'Pop-Pop', Tony, Lauren, and Blair, and loving daughter-in-law Frances. Tony had thirteen brothers and sisters. Surviving still are Raymond, Bill, Virginia, Theresa, Sally, Ruth, Barbara, Cookie, and Joan. My deepest and saddest sympathy to the family;I will always remember Tony's witty and kind personality.It was so kind of him to give me work so that I could attend my prom (1977)......Tony will be deeply missed, but always remembered.
