Anna Ogden Obituary

OGDEN, ANNA GRACE 81, - of Hammonton, died on August 14, 2008 in Hammonton. She lived in Hammonton for four years, first at The Heritage assisted living facility and more recently at Innova long-term care. She attended the Presbyterian Church in Hammonton. Born on July 1, 1927 in Tripoli, Libya, Miss Ogden was the daughter of Dr. Robert F. Ogden and Adelia Russell Ogden. Her father was a minister and missionary with the Presbyterian Church of America whose work involved travel throughout the Middle East; her mother, an RN, raised Grace and her two siblings while stationed in a variety of cities along the southern and eastern coast of the Mediterranean. After a childhood in the Middle East, Miss Ogden attended boarding school in Switzerland followed by Converse College in Spartansburg, SC. She made her home in Oxon Hill, Maryland, working at the Department of Transportation in Washington, DC until her retirement in 1995. For 45 years Miss Ogden was an active member of the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC, where she sang in the choir. She was also a gifted actress who participated in many theatrical productions, both in Washington, DC and in summer stock in Connecticut. Miss Ogden was pre-deceased by her parents, Robert and Adelia Ogden, of Hillcrest Heights, MD; her brother, Robert F. Ogden, Jr., of Convent Station, New Jersey; and her sister, Adelia Ogden MacAllister Heller, of Knoxville, TN. She is survived by five nieces, two nephews, and their families: Warren Ogden of Hammonton; Jennifer Tooley of Florham Park; Barbara Roth of Long Valley; Steven Heller, Susan Pugh and Karin Foust of Knoxville, TN; and Laura Wilson of Springfield, CO. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 18th at 1:30 p.m. at the Hammonton Presbyterian Church; it will be preceded by a half-hour visitation. A memorial service at the National Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC will follow at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to support Alzheimers research. Arrangements are by the Carnesale Funeral Home.

I want to thank the family of Ms Anna Grace for allowing me to know and take care of her. She was the most pleasent person I have ever taken care of at Innova and I've been there for many many years. I will sincerely miss her. she was a pleasure to have. My deepest symphathy to you all.
