Marion Smedley Obituary

SMEDLEY, MARION MARGARET, (nee McKeever), 82 - of N. Cape May, formerly of Germantown section of Philadelphia, died Saturday, August 16, 2008 at her home. Marion was born in Philadelphia and had been a full time area resident since 1988. She married Harry Smedley Sr. on August 26, 1944 and had worked as a clerk, employed by Acme Markets both in Philadelphia, PA and Seaville, NJ where she retired in 1988. Marion was a member of the St. John of God R.C. Church in N. Cape May. Marion is survived by her husband Harry Smedley Sr.; two sons, Harry F. Smedley Jr. (Mary Jo) of Philadelphia and Joseph M. Smedley (JoAnne) of Warrington, PA; two daughters, Marion Discepola (Joseph) of Stone Harbor and Diane Conway of Swainton; a sister, Marie Scavillo of Philadelphia; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at St. John of God R.C. Church, 680 Townbank Road, N. Cape May. Friends may call Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to: Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Route 9, Swainton, NJ 08210. Evoy Funeral Home.
