Alfred Scerni Obituary

SCERNI, ALFRED R., 87, - of Margate, born and raised in the Ducktown section of Atlantic City, the last surviving son of Pietro and Esther Scerni, died Sunday at Atlanticare Regional Medical Center. Husband of the late Kathryn E. (nee Galvin). Survived by one son, Alfred R. Jr. and his wife Dee of Galloway and one daughter Karen S. Burd and her husband Dennis of Linwood. Also survived by three grandchildren David Love, Robyn Love, and Lyndsay Burd Digneo. Mr. Scerni served with the Army-Air Corps during WWII, was a shop foreman with Yellow Cab for 30 years, and coached St. Michael's Biddy Basketball and Chelsea Little League. Relatives and friends of the family may call Wednesday 9-10AM at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Jerome and Ventnor Aves, Margate where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM. Interment Holy Cross Cem. Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers Mass Cards are preferred. Arrangements by EVOY-BANASZ FUNERAL HOME, Haddon Heights (856 547-7600).
