James Cogan Obituary



COGAN, JAMES D. JR., 81, - of Northfield, passed away August 23, 2008. Son of James and Charlotte Cogan. He was born in Atlantic City and was a resident of Northfield for the past 51 years. James served in the U.S. Army during World War II. A member for 50 years of the Local 454 Wharf and Dock Builders Union, he took pride in his work and construction expertise. He worked on the Delaware Memorial and the Longport Bridges along with numerous casinos. He was an avid reader, enjoyed classical music and was a movie enthusiast. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Amanda (Reitzler), two sons; John Cogan (Mary Jo) of EHT and James Cogan III (Gayle) of Linwood and a daughter, Linda Dunn (Tom) of EHT. He was proud of his grandchildren; Brian and Matthew Dunn of Manayunk, Daniel Dunn of EHT, Jonathan and Zacharey Cogan of EHT and Scott and Cindy Cogan of Linwood. He is also survived by his sister Joan MacDade (Bill) of Vineland. At his request, services will be private with burial in Zion Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to any Cancer, Heart, Diabetes or Hospice organization. Arrangements entrusted to and condolences may be left for the family at adams-perfect.com.
