Lillian Cyr Obituary

CYR, LILLIAN L., (NEE LATOUR), 84, - of Mays Landing, died on August 25, 2008. She has joined her husband Claude and granddaughter Amanda, rising to the Lord. She was welcomed with His open arms. Lillian came here, to Buena, leaving her native land of Quebec, Canada. She had lived in Green Creek and Mays Landing for a number of years. Always a hard-working person, Lillian devoted her life to her child, Claudette and grandchildren Amanda and Andrew. There would never be a more sacrificing individual. Her wisdom delivered by soft words, was a guidance. A full smile was her appeal; for she was forever happy with life. Lillian lived to give a good life to her family, ever proud, for which we will always be appreciative. We have been blessed by her spirit of living, kindness, fortitude, and courage. She was a woman of great generosity. Also, ever frank and just -- the message was delivered. For she was a woman with definitive values. We, Andrew and I, will always remember. Sadly missed, we relish her peace. Lillian is survived by her daughter Claudette Cortopassi, grandson Andrew Cortopassi, and a large Canadian family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 11 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 114 Route 50, Mays Landing, where friends may call from 10 AM until the time of the Mass. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the AtlanticCare Foundation Amanda Fund, 2500 English Creek Ave., Building C., Egg Harbor Twp., NJ 08234. Dear Claude -

I am so sorry at the loss of your mom - I have known Lillian well for longer than I have known you my dear friend.

Your mother was an remarkable woman who now sits at the foot of Jesus with Claude and your darling Amanda - as they all watch over you and Andrew.

I loved Lillian dearly as I love you. May God bless you at this time with the wonderful memories to carry you through and I will lift you and Andrew in prayer. I know Lillian is at peace and without the confines of any illnesses anymore.

In His light and with my love,
Dawn Mutchko

PS - To bring a smile to you and Andrew - we all know God is a Penn State fan as he painted the heavens blue and white and Lillian will watch our games from the BEST seat!

Hugs and kisses darling!

Dear Claudette & Andrew,

We offer our most sincere condolences at this difficult time. We can still envision your Mom sitting at the kitchen table, watching the birds in back of the house.

We know that she is now walking with God.

Dear Claudette, I was so sorry to read about your mom's passing and also shocked and saddened to read about your daughter. It's so sad to lose touch with people that I've known my whole life and then to read such news as this. You and your parents were my only family for so many years while I was "growing up". I have nothing but good memories of you, your mom, and dad, and of course your Canadian family as well. I wish the best for you always. Love, Shaaron Kaye
