Melvin Harold Mosby

MOSBY, MELVIN HAROLD, 75 - of Atlantic City, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008, at his home after a lengthy illness. Melvin's son, James, and a life long friend and care-giver, Lavedia Davis were at his side as he left his earthly body to be with the Lord. He was born, March 3, 1932, in New York. "Gismo" as some would call him, was employed at Wheaton's Plastic, now known as Pirimal Glass, where he was a machine operator and utility worker. Melvin's long time companion, Joann Pender, spent time together traveling and experiencing life. His life long friends Ms. Ora Smith, Zack and Iren often helped with providing comfort to Melvin by spending time with him when he became ill. Melvin is predeceased by: wife, Elaine A. Mosby and daughter, Norene C. Mosby-Watson. He is survived by: his sister, Barbara "Aunt Dolly" of Maryland; brother, Howard "Uncle Bubba" of New York; sister-in-law, Jimmie Mosby of New York; sons, James of Egg Harbor Township, Melvin Jr., of Chicago, Ill.; grand-children, Bryen, Najee, Khari Watson of Atlantic City, James Melvin Mosby, of North Dakota, Saderi Mosby and Shirlen Mosby of GA'; a great-grand child , Emmauel; a host of nieces, nephews, many friends, all of whom are sadden by this loss. Dad...Melvin, within our hearts we will love you forever. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, , September 6, 2008, New Hope Baptist Church, 706-708 Lexington Avenue, Atlantic City where friends may call from 9 a.m. Interment to follow in Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville.
