Gwen Baxter Obituary

BAXTER, GWEN B., (NEE SAVIDGE), 92, - of Ocean City, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2008 at The Shores at Wesley Manor in Ocean City. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was formerly of Oak Lane, PA and a resident of Ocean City since 1952. Mrs. Baxter worked as a Telephone Operator for Pennsylvania Bell Telephone and as a clerk for Strawbridges both in Philadelphia, PA. She was a member of the Colony Club and an active member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church both in Ocean City. Mrs. Baxter was an active Bridge Player and Cook. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Baxter. Surviving are a daughter, Carole Demirtas, one sister, Roberta Shaw of Blue Bell, PA and one brother, William Savidge of Haddonfield. A Service of Memory and Love will be offered Wednesday Afternoon (Today) at one o'clock from The Shores at Wesley Manor, 2201 Bay Avenue, Ocean City. Carol,
I am truely saddened to read of the death of your mother. She was a sweet person who I will always remember fondly. I am glad that I was able to care for her while I worked at The Shores, and know that she loved you a greatly.
