Raymond Boyer Obituary

BOYER, RAYMOND 87, - of Egg Harbor Township, formerly of Brigantine, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday August 30, 2008 after a long illness. Ray was born in Camden and lived in the Fairview section of the city for many years before moving to Brigantine. Ray's gentle nature, quiet humor and smile were cherished by all who knew him. Upon his return to the States, Ray joined the Carpenters' Union in Philadelphia in commercial building. When casinos came to Atlantic City, Ray transferred to the union here and worked in the construction of the casinos until he retired. When Ray moved to Brigantine, he and his wife joined the Sons of Italy Lodge as Charter Members. They did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels for 10 years. They were also members of the Brigantine Senior Citizens Club. Ray is survived by his wife Mildred (Millie) of 65 years, his daughter Linda Bown (Gordon) of Huntingdon, Quebec, Canada. Dear Aunt Mildred, Linda and Gordon, I am so sorry for your loss. I have many great memories of fun times with Uncle Ray, especially one of which is a clam digging trip with him and others. Having just built a garage here in Ridgeland brought back many memories of the time he helped me build another one a few years ago. I am thinking of all of you at this time. Love, Dave

Hello Linda, I believe you are the young woman who lived in the 1200 block of Merrimac Rd. and was one of my Girl Scouts as well as on the Girls' Softball team that I coached. I often wondered where you were, and I'm sorry I had to find you in this way. My deepest sympathy to you and your Mom on the loss of your beloved Dad. Always remember the good times you had with him, and he will remain alive forever in your heart.
Sincerely, Marge Yeager

Dear Aunt Mildred, Linda & Gordon,
My love to you. Uncle Ray has always held a special place in my heart too. I've always admired him, a wonderful craftsman, and seemingly always willing to offer valued advice and help. He gave so much of himself so unselfishly.
In Love and Peace,
Brent
