I just received the Legacy.com notice that Edie's Guestbook will go off line Sept. 2nd. It seemed strange that one day last week, as I browsed through some of Gillespie Jr. High and Simon Gratz memory boxes, I found pictures taken the night of our senior prom. Edie looked so beautiful, as did all of us. It is a group picture taken in the livingroom of my home on 26th Street. Such wonderful memories of a time gone by. My sympathy to all in the Defiore and Pellegrini families.

Jerry, Kim and Dana:
My prayers are with all of you everyday. I couldn't bring myself to write before this. Don't ask me why, but I couldn't. I will miss my Saturdays with Edie more than you'll know. She was loved and the memories I have of our time together, I will cherish. Jerry, you were so wonderful to and with her and she knew how much you loved her and it showed to everyone who came into contact with both of you. If I can do anything, please keep in touch.
Love, Beth

Gerry:
We so enjoyed dinner last evening with you, the Berardos, and Dooleys. You have a wealth of memories of the love of your life, Edie, to console you at this difficult time. While the pain you feel at this moment will ease with the passage of time, those memories will comfort you forever. Your genuine love for Edie was written on your face each time her name was mentioned. She is now at peace with Gerry and together they watch over us all my friend. Francine and I consider ourselves very fortunate for knowing your loving family for so many years. Dana, Kim, you, and your grandchildren are in our prayers Gerry.
Love,
Herb and Francine Lottier

Kim and Dana and Mr. Pellegrini:
When mom told me about your mom's passing I was saddened. We have had some great memories in the "old neighborhood" and will never forget her smile. The comfort comes from knowing she is at peace after several years of turmoil. The family is in our prayers and hugs to everyone. She will be missed but is now in a much better place.

Gerry,
There are certain couples that you can tell just by looking at them that they are best friends and are still together because they are soul mates. This was so true of you and Edie. We are so sorry for your loss but I know there are slot machines in heaven and your son is helpng her cash her winnings.

Jerry, Dana & Kimmy,
She was so marvelously perfect and an inspiration to us all. "We have witnessed love in it's purest sense, how can our lives not be bettered by it". Jerry & Edie's marriage was a beautiful love story until the end. They held each other up in the most difficult times and gave comfort to those around them. Jerry, you loved & cared for Edie with a beautiful & generous heart. Hold those precious memories gently to your heart and always know how happy you made "Miss Edith" and how lucky you were to have had her in your life. We mourn with you and your family in Montana and keep all of you in our thoughts & prayers and will always cherish the memory of that special lady and the joy she brought to our lives.
Love,
Bobby & Stella Halasa
