Myrtle Snell Obituary

SNELL, MYRTLE G., 92, - of Cape May Court House, died August 29th, 2008 at Court House Convalescent Center in Cape May Courthouse. Myrtle was born March 29th, 1916 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the daughter of William and Sarah O'Brien. She was the wife of Major Evard J. Snell (USMC Ret.) who preceded her in death. Prior to WWII she traveled with her husband to duty stations in both the Philippines and China. In then Peking China her first son was born, Jenkin E. Snell. A skilled culinary craftsmen and manager, she accomplished a long career in food management at the Philadelphia Civic Center. She will be remembered by so many for her extraordinary ability in flower arranging and cake decorating for both weddings of family and friends and each years Marine Corp birthday ball. She is survived by William J. Snell and his wife Sue Anne of Long Pond, Pennsylvania and James E. Snell and his wife Glenda of Ramona, California. She was preceded in death by her eldest son Jenkin E. Snell and her grandson David Snell. She was also survived by her grandchildren, Andrea Balzer, Joseph Snell, Elizabeth Snell, Richard Snell and Megan Snell. There are three great-grandchildren, Crystal, Anthony and Sean and one great-great grandchild, Stephen. She is also survived by her sisters Anna Cervino, Sarah Nunn, and Irene O'Brien as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 6, 11:00 am at St. Ann's Church, 2900 Atlantic Ave. Wildwood, where friends may call 10:00 am. Internment at Arlington National Cemetery.

Aunt Myrtle,
Our family has lost a most loving member but heaven has gained a ANGEL, I will miss you dearly and my fond memories of you will never leave me. May God give you your place that you so lovingly deserve. I and my family will miss you ..with all our love,
