Joyce M. Davis

DAVIS, JOYCE M., (WILSON) - entered life on December 8, 1939 in Wildwood. She was the fourth child and the youngest daughter of her eight siblings born to Crawford and Helen Wilson. On Tuesday, September 2, 2008 she departed this earthly life at Montgomery Hospital, Norristown, PA. Raised and educated in Wildwood, she received Christ at an early age in Asbury A.M.E. Church. She met and married John Davis and from this union their home was blessed with Karen, Sharon, Tamara, John and Barbara. Joycie was a loving, out-going and down to earth woman, who cared and loved her family. She retired from Woodbine Developmental Center in Woodbine. She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters: Karen (St. Clair) Wright of Mitchellville, MD; Sharon M. Davis of Roosevelt, Long Island, NY; Barbara (Bennie) Davis of Norristown, PA; her mother: Helen E. Wilson of Wildwood; her siblings: Jessie Griffin of Philadelphia, PA; Joan Freeman of Roosevelt, Long Island, NY; Crawford (Elizabeth) Wilson of Philadelphia, PA; Jay (Betty #1) Wilson of Wildwood, Melvin (Betty #2) Wilson of Clinton, MD, six grandchildren: St. Clair Jr., Gabrielle, Sirita, Darius, Cameron, Natasha and Kennedy. Along with a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Crawford Wilson; son John; daughter Tamara; two brothers Douglas and Clarence. Funeral services are going to be held Monday, September 8 at 11 a.m. at the Richard C. Johnson Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 800 W. Main St. Norristown. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, W. Norriton, PA.
