Beatrice Hunter Obituary

HUNTER, BEATRICE, (NEE ROBERTS), 88 - of Wildwood Crest, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at the Crest Haven Nursing Home, just one day after her 88th birthday. Born September 2, 1920 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Cora ( Clark) Roberts. She was a graduate of Olney High School and Frankford Hospital School of Nursing, both in Philadelphia, PA. Beatrice retired as Head Nurse in the Emergency Room ( E.R.) at Frankford Hospital in the mid-1970's, and then she and her husband moved to Wildwood Crest, She's an 18 year breast cancer survivor! Mrs. Hunter was a member of the Crest Community Church of Wildwood Crest, the Frankford Hospital Alumni Association, the Golden Age Club of Wildwood and the Keenagers Club. Bea absolutely loved her husband and family, being a nurse, crocheting and sewing, bus trips with her "senior" friends, the CNA's on the S.E. Wing at Crest Haven Nursing Home and living in Wildwood Crest. In addition to her parents, Harry and Cora Roberts, she was predeceased by her sisters Gladys Roberts and Annie (Harry) Baker She is survived by her husband and best friend for 65 years, Samuel "Junie" Hunter, son: Samuel (Nancy) Hunter, III, of Lansdale, PA, daughter: Bonnie (James) Carlson, of Wildwood Crest, grandsons: Samuel Hunter, IV, of West Mifflin, PA, Ryan Carlson, of Wildwood Crest, and a "favorite" nephew: Robert (Evie) Baker of Morris, PA. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Veteran's Cemetery, in Cape May Court House on Sunday, September 7th, 2008 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent in Bea's name to: Volunteers in Medicine (VIM), 423 North Route 9, Cape May Court House, N.J. 08210. Arrangements by Ingersoll-Greenwood.
