Pearson Frankland Obituary

FRANKLAND, PEARSON "SUT", 87 - of Avalon, died Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Cape Regional Medical Center, Cape May Court House. He grew up in Philadelphia and served in the Army Air Corps during WW II.

Text Box: He served his apprenticeship at NY Shipbuilding, and was a member of Sheet Metal Workers' Union Local 19 in Philadelphia for 37 years. A permanent resident of Avalon for 25 years, Pearson was a member of Maris Stella Church and traveled extensively with the Avalon Seniors. He served with the Avalon Fire Police and was a member of the American Legion Post 331.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (nee Hilbert); his two daughters: Janet Hunter of Southampton and Susan Verzella of Collingswood; his son: Robert A.; six grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.

Funeral Liturgy will be said 11:00 am, Thursday, September 11, at Maris Stella Church, 50th Street & Dune Drive, Avalon, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 am. Interment in Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Avalon Volunteer Fire Company, 3100 Dune Dr., Avalon, NJ 08202.
