Dorian,
My Redford Husky friend, I couldn't belive it when I recieved the sad news from Ronald. So sorry I didn't get a chance to speak to you when we got older, but the memories you gave me will last a lifetime. I remember in High School anytime you told a joke and no one would laugh; you would tell them "Bridget told me that joke" I would spend all day trying to convience them that I didn't. Everytime I think of that I laugh. Dorian as I read the memories that your family and friends has shared; you must have been an angel that the Lord allowed us to be in the company of. You could put a smile on anyone face, so I thank you for every memory that you have given me. Friends like Ronald, Danny, and yourself are priceless. See Dorian this isn't the end it's just the beginning; hold down Paradise and don't tell the Angels any corney jokes!
Love ya,
Bridget Brown (Gainesville, FL)

Dorian,
It has been a month since we have all had to say goodbye to you, and it is still hard for me to believe that you are no longer with us. I wish that we could have seen you before your passing but who could have guessed. I hope that this has taught us all to not take life or our loved ones for granted. I will miss you and the hilarious stories you would tell about how you use to torture Lasha and Angela (rockum-sockum robots). That is why older siblings are born, to torture the younger ones.
After reading all of the condolences from your friends and other family members I hope that you knew that you were truly loved and will be dearly missed by many.
Your cousin,
Dannie

Dorian,
I was so saddened to hear of your passing, I just heard yesterday. There are people in life that you meet that make a certain, unforgettable impressions and you were one of them. You will be missed at the Marina for sure. You brought a light to that place. Now you are with the Lord at the eternal banquet. Enjoy!!

Dorian,
The man who smiled like an Angel and gave a stranger a red rose, because she thought he was so handsome. I was so excited, I grinned from ear to ear like Chester the cat and as I tried to walk away and look cute after saying Thank-you; I fell and scraped the fabric off of the knee of my pants. But, you just kept on smiling. I always laugh and wondered if you ever said to yourself “Man, I don’t know if I did the right thing giving that crazy girl a rose” because I tortured you with my Chester the Cat smile for 10 years. There’s just one thing I wish I did and it hurts me so much that it took all these years for me to say. “Dorian, you were an amazing man. You raised beautiful children, you worked hard, you took good care of yourself, and you loved your family and friends. Mom Arestes always picked with me, because I had such a crush on you. Though I never had the opportunity to hold you hostage in Vegas until you married me, I am still honored to have known you as my friend and my family. I miss you dearly; you will always be in my heart. Till then my friend.

Love, Jennifer and Munchie

From the moment your mother brought you home and put you in my arms; I felt you were mine. As you grew older, I could see that we still had a connection. When you told me I was too old at the age of 30 to have children; I knew you were learning the value of life. When you talked about how cheap I was to have wall paper book pages for wall paper; I knew you knew the worth of money. When you worked for me when you were in high school and were giving away my products, and I had to fire you; you learned responsibility.
I will miss the many conversations we had over the years and me taking the bus to your place to spend the weekend.
Dorian, I will miss you more than you will ever know. My heart goes out to the ones that you leave behind especially my sister (your mom).

Wow, I still can't believe you are gone. You were my oldest cousin and I used to (still do) brag about how great of a man you were and how you always had something good to say and in your heart.

You took me and my 3 girls in with no questions, when we needed it. I am forever grateful for that. When we came back to visit you in '03, although I was on crutches I wanted to make sure we saw you, even if we had to go to your job.

Although you weren't my big brother, I always felt like you were and I wanted to show you how much you helped me, so you would be proud of my decisions. I'm still proud of you and you will be missed.

Love you Cuz!

You were my little- big brother. It is due to you that I am where I am in life and have the new family I have. You have helped so many in life and will continue to help so many in death. Every time we talked on the phone, you told me you loved me, I never felt deserving of your love. I hope I can begin to pay you back by helping your daughter Denae find her way in life. You will always occupy a special place in my heart and in the heart of my daughter. I will tell her your story from the day that I met you to the day that you left me.

Love U (Dorian Allen Smith) Doro :)

Dorian,
You are a true inspiration to us all!...We have spent many hours, days, months and years together and were quite the "chain gang" family…You never judged any of us, never held a grudge (which had to be hard with all of us girls!!), always had an ear to lend for a problem and always there to help out. You will be missed! Even though I am no longer on the "chain", I will miss you terribly and will always hold a place in my heart for you…. You are the GREATEST! – a wonderful father, "chain gang" brother and friend! Love, Heather
