Kathleen Roman Obituary

ROMAN, KATHLEEN, "KATIE", 77 - formerly of Absecon, passed away on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008. Katie was born in Philadelphia on July 16, 1931 to Edward M. Brown and Edith Sutton Harvey. She graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1950, and married the love of her life, William A. Roman in November 1954. Katie worked in the Circulation Department of the Press of Atlantic City for 16 years, and in 1991 retired to Davie, Florida to be with her daughter. After retirement, she continued her love of caring for animals of all species, by volunteering at the Humane Society of Broward County and the Wildlife Care Center of Fort Lauderdale. She was predeceased by her parents and husband, and is survived by her daughter Jo-Anne M. Roman, her daughter's life partner Sharron K. Carmichael, and her beloved cousin Ann Lamy of Mays Landing. Katie will be sadly missed by her dearly loved dogs "Nino" and "Bridget", as well as cats "Casey", "Sean" and "Patrick". A mass of Christian burial will be offered Friday, September 19th at 12:00 p.m., at St Nicholas of Tolentine Church, with internment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. Donations may be made in Katie's memory to the Humane Society of Broward County, 2070 Griffin, Fort Lauderdale 33312 or the Wildlife Care Center, 3200 S.W. 4th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312.
