What a treasure to have Mary in my life. How blessed to help care for Mary and receive the gift of a wonderful friend, a loving and devoted mother and Mimi, caring sister and aunt, confidont, advisor, mentor, "stand-up comic" spirit guide and hero. All of my memories end with a smile. Thank you Mary for all you are to me and so many. Love, peace and prayers to all in Mary's universe.

Jessica is my best friend-I knew Mimi through her, and I was honored to know her. She was such a wonderful lady and took such great care of us in college. I loved answering the phone and hearing "Hi...It's Mimi!" She always took the time to talk to each one of us and see how we were doing. I remember going to NJ with Jess and visiting her. She bought us special treats when we had bad times (ask Jessica about being lost on the Appalachian Trail!!!) She is truly and will always remain a special soul.

Seeing her whole family, knowing Mary's the best, I am seeing Mimi in all of her daughters. You all share the same love and humor that she did. And it transpires to your children and all around you.

She was a special lady, and know she will be missed.

I want this to be a celebration of Mary's life ~ it is quite a life to celebrate! She was loved by everyone who met her.

I reflect on the time in 1989 when we took a trip with Single Parents to Los Angeles & bus tour up the coast. We got as far as St. Luis, Ibisbo. She thought she was swaying in the shower from being dizzy. I was in the pool when a person said, "We just had an earthquake." Sure enough, it was the Oakland Bay Bridge earthquake!

I was blessed to have Mary as my friend. Mary never complained. Through her gradual debilitation, she said, "This isn't so bad, I'm not in pain."

My prayer is: "Jesus, when you see Mary, take her by the hand and tell her what a great job she did. Well done, thou good & faithful servant."

God bless you Mary ~ see you in Heaven!

Love, your buddy Carole

Mary, Kathy, Patti, and Lizzie,

What a great tribute to your mom today. She was an amazing woman, as my mother will attest. Her strength, her courage, her zest for life will live on in each of you always.

There was no other person than your mother, that could make my mother laugh a real "belly" laugh. My mom could never tell a story about your mom without laughing. I know my mom will miss her oldest, dearest, bestest friend, and I know she also feels so blessed and priviledged that Mary Theresa Ahern Walsh was a part of her life for close to 70 years.

I will continue to keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

I am one of Mary's grandaughters. Not only was Mimi a grandmother, Mother, Sister, and Daughter she was a friend. A best friend in fact. She would make everyone around her smile and she truly loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She made everyone feel special and was an amazing person who sure fought a hard fight, but always with a smile. Thanks for everything Mimi and I will truly miss you, but I will never stop loving you!!

I was Mary's neighbor for many years, my husband Jim and I enjoyed many enlightening and funny conversations with her she was a good friend and neighbor always willing to give you her time when you had a problem, and you walked away with a smile on your face. She raised four wonderful girls, and had granadchildren who adored her. My sympathy and love go out to all the family.Barbara Ryan

I worked with Mary at Bell Atlantic in Philadelphia between 1983 until she retired. I transferred from Harrisburg to the big city when I was 27 and Mary was the first person to take me under her wing and make me feel more comfortable in a strange place. She has always been a mentor and friend to me.

Mary and I worked together in the 1980's. Some of my fondest memories of working at Bell of PA were during this time. Mary was such a hard worker. I remember her sense of humor and I have memories from that time that I still laugh about today. Mary was a warm and caring person who loved talking about her girls - you could just tell how much they meant to her and how much she loved them. My deepest condolences to her family. Mary will truly be missed.
