Donlif Daniels Obituary



DANIELS, DONLIF ASTRUTHA, - of New York City, quietly slipped away, Saturday, September 13, 2008, after 102 years. She was born July 27, 1906, to Georgeanna and Elisha Brathwaite in St. Phillip, Barbados. She and her sister, the late Maysie A. Greenidge, moved to Atlantic City in 1923, after their mother died to live with their father. Once in Atlantic City, Donlif became a member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church. Donlif married Garland "Gary" Daniels on March 2, 1935, in 1940, they moved to New York City for better career opportunities. Donlif and Gary had one daughter, Ann Henrietta and stepson, Reginald. Donlif leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Ann and her husband, Bob Todd; grandson, Brian and his wife, Beverly Todd; great-grandsons, Brandon and Brice Todd, niece, Ulrica G. Pope; daughters by choice, Sondra Chase and Norma Brathwaite; step-granddaughters, Regina Francis and Joyce Evans; and a host of other family and friends. A Viewing will be held, 11 AM until Noon, Friday, September 19, 2008, at the Greenidge Funeral Home, 301 Absecon Boulevard, Atlantic City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said graveside 1 PM, Friday, in Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville.
