Sam Imburgia Obituary



IMBURGIA, SAM F., 91 - of Port Orange, FL, died on September 12 at Halifax Medical Center. Born in Monesson, Pennsylvania. Mr. Imburgia worked for the Philadelphia Naval Air Engineering Center and retired in 1976. He was a longtime resident of Collings Lakes where he served as the President for both the Catholic Club and the Civic Association. He was also instrumental in starting the Roman Catholic Mission in Collings Lakes, which was an extension of St. Mary's. He was a Commander of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Cape May, NJ, and the Senior Education Officer of the Flotilla Squadron 44 in Daytona Beach, FL, until 2007. He recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award for volunteering over the past 23 years. He is predeceased by his wife Eileen, son Jeffery, and Grandchildren Christopher Greene and Kristine Graham. He is survived by his son Thomas of Port Orange FL, daughter Carolyn Greene of South Jersey, brother Ignatius of Bloomingdale, IL, nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. His hobbies included crossword puzzles, ham radios, and civil war enthusiast. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday morning 10:00-11:30 am at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. Third St. Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial Friday 12:00pm at St. Joseph Church N. Third St. Hammonton. Burial Greenmount Cemetery.

Carolyn & Tommy.....I know you will both greatly miss your Dad...He was a great person.....I'll never forget him teaching your Mom how to drive while I sat in the back of the car with the 3 of you children..Your Dad didn't know it, but he was also teachng me to drive.. I remebered all his directions and became an accomplished driver.....I'll always remember him and your mother and also both of you....Love Cassie Johann
