Sylvester "Sly" Gibbons

GIBBONS, SYLVESTER, "SLY", 81 - of Egg Harbor Township, passed away at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Campus, on September 16, 2008. Born in Cardiff to the late Sylvester and Lucy Gibbons, he graduated from the Cardiff School System and spent many years working in the food service industry. Sylvester served in the US Navy and was honorable discharged. Predeceased by brother, Henry Cramer; and sister, Pearl Taylor; he is survived by: sister, Marie Dutton; brothers, Alfred Gibbons (Mary) and Arthur Gibbons (Florence), and a host of nieces and nephews. Homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008, 11AM at Faith Baptist Church, 829 Tilton Road, Pleasantville, where friends may call from 10AM. Interment immediately following in the Greenwood Cemetery, Pleasantville. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations by made on his behalf and sent to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 806, Tilton Road, Pleasantville, NJ 08232. Professional services are entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Home, Atlantic City.
