Edwin F. Malia

MALIA, EDWIN F. 87 - of Somers Point, NJ died suddenly on Friday, September 19, 2008, at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Pomona, NJ. He was the beloved husband of Loretta F. Driscoll Malia for 61 years. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Maguire Malia. Mr. Malia was a resident of Somers Point, NJ for the past 16 years, having formerly lived in Bensalem, PA. Ed was a proud Army veteran who served his country during World War II. He was a 3rd. Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and also a member of the American Legion Post #352. Before his retirement in 1986, Mr. Malia was employed as a sales representative at Penn Distributors, located in Philadelphia, PA. Not being ready for full retirement, Ed went to work at Great Bay Golf Club in Somers Point. His circle of friends at the golf club was a very important part of his life. He was a sports enthusiast and always enjoyed watching and rooting for his Phillies and Eagles. Being family oriented, he looked forward to the special times spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter, Mary Jane Rosinski and her husband, Stephen, of Langhorne, PA and his son, Edwin J. Malia and his wife, Jo, of Hatboro, PA. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, Kimberly A. Delesky (Joseph), Michael S. Rosinski (Kim), Kevin Malia (Danielle), David Malia (Jaime) and 6 great grandchildren, Jake, Ryan, Samantha, Justin, Eric and Olivia. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road) Richboro, PA 18954 and to his Funeral Mass 10:00 a.m. at St. Bede the Venerable Church, Holland, PA. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
