Etta Ryan Obituary

RYAN, ETTA G., 95 - of Northfield, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in Ocean City. She was born in Quebec, the family moved to Niagara Falls, Ontario where she grew up with her sisters Mary, Irene and her brother Jimmy. Etta was very active in sports and church activities and was a volunteer in the Red Cross during WW II. After the war, she met and married James Ryan and moved to Oyster Bay, NY, where they began their family and then moved to Northfield in 1965. Etta was a long-time sales associate at Sugar Pine Workshop in Northfield. She was a long-time member of Central United Methodist Church as a choir member, the bell choir and the women's groups. She also belonged to the NAFEC Women's Club and the International Club. Etta is survived by her son James Robert and his wife Carol Anne of Fairfield, CT and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Etta's Life Celebration and viewing on Thursday, September 25, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at Jeffries & Keates Funeral Home, Tilton Rd & Infield Ave, Northfield. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church, Central Ave. & Shore Road, Linwood. Interment Friends Central Cemetery, Linwood. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Music Ministry of Central United Methodist Church at the above address. www.jeffriesandkeates.com
