Marie Barber Obituary



BARBER, MARIE T., 93 - of Vineland, passed away Sunday morning at her residence after a brief illness. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Elizabeth (Klarman) Fischer. She was raised in Newfield and resided in the greater Vineland area for most of her life. Marie was a devoted homemaker. She was a reading enthusiast and a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. Marie enjoyed visiting the casinos in Atlantic City, playing Bingo, crocheting, cooking and baking. Wife of the late George A. Barber and sister of the late Theresa Lipsitz Romard, Clara Jost, and George, Edward, Frederick, and Frank Fischer; She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Rose Marie and Peter Shadinger of Scottsdale, AZ, Rita and Martin Yusko of Minotola, and Brenda and Harvey Shaw of Vineland; seven sons and six daughters-in-law: Anthony and Carol Barber of Las Vegas, NV, Daniel Barber of Maricopa, AZ, George and Kathleen Barber, Thomas and Victoria Barber, Timothy and Elizabeth Barber, Michael and Patricia Barber, and Steven and Bernice Barber all of Vineland; 38 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of St. Isidore the Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Rd., Vineland. Interment will be private in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Rd., Vineland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bishop Schad School, 922 E. Landis Ave., Vineland, NJ 08360-4020 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
