Salvatore DeLorenzo Obituary

DELORENZO, SALVATORE J., 90 - of Ocean View, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2008 at Girard Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Nyack, NY, he was formerly of East Rutherford, and a resident of Ocean View for 29 years. Mr. DeLorenzo worked as a Store Manager for various Shop Rite Supermarkets in North Jersey for 23 years before his retirement in 1979. He served as a Court Baliff for 15 years and the Police Reserves for 12 years both in East Rutherford. He was a member of The Church of the Resurrection, Marmora, NJ, and was a 50 year member of Knights of Columbus, where he was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus #9113 Resurrection Council, Marmora, and was a former member of Trinity Council Knights of Columbus #747, Hackensack. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy R. DeLorenzo and beloved father of the late Salvatore J. DeLorenzo, Jr. (Wayne). Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen R. DeLorenzo of Ocean View, six brothers and sisters, Vincent DeLorenzo, Ralph DeLorenzo, both of North Carolina, Frank DeLorenzo of New Mexico, Philip DeLorenzo of Blauvelt, NY, Grace Castellane of Bergenfield, Anne Melia of Piermont, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Resurrection will be offered Friday morning at 11 o'clock from The Church of the Resurrection, 200 West Tuckahoe Road, Marmora, NJ where friends may call from half past nine o'clock until 10:45 AM, with a Knights of Columbus service at ten o'clock.
