BARBETTI, EMMA M., (VALENTE) 92 - of Vineland, passed away Monday, October 13, 2008, in Bishop McCarthy Residence. Born in Vineland to the late Frank and Mary (Calareso) Valente, she was a life long resident. She attended Vineland public schools and as a young girl still in school she helped her parents on the family farm. Emma was a seamstress for Rosenthal Clothing Company in Vineland. She then worked as a counter person for Dino Montagna's "The Spot" a well-known local sweet shop on Landis Avenue. Emma also managed Geraci's Market for many years. After her husband "Brownie", a patrolman for the Vineland Police Department, passed away in 1965, she helped raise her grandchildren. Emma was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Vineland Senior Center. She enjoyed bus trips to the casinos, dinner theaters, and especially cooking her special Italian meals for her family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Ralph Barbetti and his fiancee Rosanne Tizzano of Vineland, and Robert Barbetti of Vineland, her grandsons, Ronald and his wife Lisa Barbetti; and Steven and his wife Michelle Barbetti, great-grandchildren, Bianca, Dylan and Nicholas of Jacksonville, Florida, sister-in-law Marie Marolda of Vineland and many nieces and nephews. Emma was predeceased by her husband Deno "Brownie" Barbetti in 1965, her brothers Philip Valente Sr., John Valente and Frank Valente and sisters Theresa Verity, Rose Abba, Sue Sciulli and Mary Angelo. A church visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th, from 10 to 12 pm followed by the funeral liturgy at 12 noon in St. Isidore The Farmer Church, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland.
