Michele Rumer Obituary
RUMER, MICHELE L., 65 - of Palermo, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 26, 2008 in Greenville, NC. Born in Philadelphia, Pa she has lived in Palermo since 1965. Michele was a graduate of Ocean City High School Class of 1961. She was the Office Coordinator for Dr's Bray and Pfund in Somers Point for 27 years. Michele was a founding member of The Church of the Resurrection in Marmora, a charter member of Country Shore Women's Club, one of the Chairpersons for the Upper Township Bicentennial and past President of St. Augustine's P. T. A. Her family was her passion and she is survived by her husband Edwin A. Rumer, Jr., Four Daughers: Pam (Cullinane) Panciera of Mystic, CT, Lynn Belz and her husband Bill of Marmora, Christine Loder of Marmora, and Terri Verrone and her husband Michael of Marlton. Also surviving are her nine grandchildren: Michael P. Cullinane, Jr., Luke Panciera, Aubrey Loder, Justin, Spencer, Russell and Amber Belz, Ethan and Kyle Verrone. Five Brothers and Sisters: JoBeth Sherby (George) of Woodbine, NJ, Helene Tolson of Belleplain, C. Michael Tolson, Jr. (Mitzi) of Seaville, Thomas J. Tolson (Diane) of Marmora, NJ, Richard Tolson (Sonya) of Ocean City, Brother in Law: George Rumer (Pam) of Ocean City, and Sister in Law: Susan Peifer (Jerry) of Upper Township, Mother in Law: Terrie Rumer and Aunt Betty Lavis. A Mass of Resurrection will be offered Saturday at 12 O'clock noon from The Church of the Resurrection, 200 West Tuckahoe Road, Marmora, NJ where friends may call from 10 until 11:45. Burial will be private at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers the family suggests those who desire send memorial contributions to the Susan G. Living in California with business demands limited my travels to Jersey over the years. Some of the very special times were when Michele would come visit the Belz children, or there would be a family gathering at the Rumer home. Michele was a very special person and I will always honor the times spent with her. My heart and prayer goes out to all the family members for she will be greatly missed. Surely the world has been made a better place by Michele and she will live on in our hearts forever.

Our condolences to Eddie and the Rumer girls from the Belz family. Michele was always so nice to our family (especially to my Mom) during our visits to Bill and Lynn. Whenever we went over the Rumer house we were always greeted by Michele with a smile and "what can I get you to eat". I always loved Mrs. Rumer and I have so many great memories of growing up and practically living at the Rumer house all through high school and college. I will always remember Mrs. Rumer's contagious laugh, bubbly personality and great sense of humor...she was always thought of as one of the "cool moms" to all of us teenagers! As a member of the OCHS class of 61, I have longstanding memories of the girl I knew as Michelle Tolson. For part of my childhood, I lived near her family and knew them all too. I will cherish these memories of Michelle and hold her closely in my heart, thoughts, and prayers.
My sincerest and deepest sympathies go out to her all family members who have suffered such a tragic loss.
The love of Ocean City and OCHS are a big part of me and that love was kept alive through contact with Michelle and the class of 61 reunion committee.
Michelle was always a smiling, cheerful and positive presence around Upper Township during all the years my family lived there. I know she will be missed terribly by all who knew her.
