Leroy, his wife Joan, and John Seylor were the first people I met when I started attending nostalgia drag racing meets. We became friends very quickly! Everyone was welcome in his pit and he and Joan always made me feel like family. I will miss Leroy tremendously. I've added a picture of Leroy as I will always remember him. This was taken at ATCO Dragway in October 2004.

My condolences to mama and the rest of big's family. Word's can't describe the person Leroy was. We are gonna miss racing together and his dream was to hit 200 mph in his blue moon racecar but he came very close 199.9 mph so if we ever hit 200 mph we are going to deticate it to him. My dad and leroy have been friends for over 20 years and he was there every time we needed him. Leroy and the rest of the Blackman family are true friends and Leroy will be missed. LOVE John Sr., Linda, John Jr., Micheal and Jeff.

I remember visiting with LeRoy and the family with my husband, Bill Blackman and our two young sons, Bobby and Billy. They really enjoyed checking out "Blue Moon" and having their pictures taken in the driver's seat. My condolences to Joan and family.

We were very saddened to read of Leroy's passing. He was truly a gentlemen at all times. The saying, only the good die young truly represents my sentiments at this dark hour.
