Ervin Caruso Obituary

CARUSO, ERVIN, 84 - of Hammonton died Wednesday at Wm. B. KessIer Memorial Hospital. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident there. Before retiring, Mr. Caruso was a Dispatcher for the Hammonton Police Department. He was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of World War II, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 1026 in Hammonton, and the Hammonton Senior Citizens. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Rose Caruso, and his sister, Estelle Burdick. He is survived by devoted and loving wife of 60 years, Lucy Caruso (nee Perrone); nephew, Michael Burdick; sisters in law, Jennie "Chip" Mattiacci, and Marie Perrone; brother in law, Frank Perrone; and his wife, Jackie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held Sunday 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street, in Hammonton, where funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hammonton Rescue Squad, 300 S. Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Dear Aunt Lucy,
Ernie and I offer our deepest sympathy to you at this most difficult time. You devotion to Uncle Ervin during his long illness truly expressed your love for him. We also loved him and enjoyed his sense of humor, stories about the war, and unique perspective about life. He will remain in our memory forever.
