Walter Wilkes Obituary

WILKES, WALTER E., 76 - of Eastampton, died Saturday, November 10, 2007 at his residence. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Wilkes received his undergraduate degree from NYU and his Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University. He was a social worker for DYFS in Trenton. He was a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Mr. Wilkes was a US Navy Veteran of Korea and served on the USS Gurke. He loved fishing, scuba diving, traveling, and antiquing. He is survived by his wife Marcia; six daughters & sons-in-law: Katherine & Paul Landi of Ocean City, Elizabeth & Ken Griffin of Cranbury, Virginia & Jon Tesser of South Brunswick, Lee & Eric Harder of Belchertown, MA, Kathleen & David Bartolini of Charlton, MA, and Erica & Rick Roessler of Mt Holly, 15 Grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Virginia Carlo of Mahwah. Relatives and Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Perinchief Chapels, 438 High St., Mt Holly. Services and Interment will be private. Contributions in his memory may be made to The Hospice of Moorestown VNA, 300 Harper Dr., Moorestown, NJ 08057.

Elizabeth, Ken and the Wilkes family,
We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your father, husband and friend. I believe that when parents pass on, many of their best qualities continue to be seen in the children the raised and their loved ones. I am sure his love for you and your family will be fondly remembered, and that those memories will be held close and help pull you through your period of grieving.
