Arthur Dorn Obituary



DORN, ARTHUR R. - of Atlantic City, departed his earthly life at the home of his brother in Ft. Washington, Maryland surrounded by family. "Artie" as he was affectionately called, was born April 19, 1947, in Atlantic City to the late James and Eva B. Dorn. He attended the Atlantic City Public Schools and was lastly employed by The Atlantic City Water Department. Arthur served in the Vietnam Conflict and was honorably discharged. "Artie" loved his music especially oldies but goodies. He loved cooking, eating, and playing cards. He loved his family and The Lord dearly. He, indeed, loved his parents. He is predeceased by his three sisters, Effie Coleman, Eva Scott, and Juliaette Dorn. He is survived by: his wife, Shireen Dorn of Atlantic City; four brothers, James of Cologne, John of Atlantic City, Isaac of Ft. Washington, Maryland, Gene and his wife, Sue, of Atlantic City; three sisters, Mary Norwood and, Doris Williams of Atlantic City, Barbara Dorn, of Pleasantville; his devoted sister-in-law Jean of Ft. Washington. Jean was his caretaker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Services will be held 11A.M. Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at Second Baptist Church, 110 Rev. Dr. Cole Plaza, where friends may view from 9:00 A.M. Burial will be in Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Home.
