Frederick Warner Obituary

WARNER, FREDERICK P., JR., ESQUIRE 46 - of Somers Point, passed away unexpectedly, at home, on November 15, 2007. Born in Philadelphia, Fred was a long-time resident of Somers Point. He attended Mainland Regional High School and Richard Stockton College) graduating with Honors. Fred was a Dean's List student at Rutgers University Law School, where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1988. Upon graduation, Fred served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Rudolph J. Rossetti, NJ Superior Court. After his clerkship, Fred worked for the Youngblood Corcoran Firm in Egg Harbor Township, In 1995, he joined the Philadelphia-based firm of Harvey Pennington, where he commenced a litigation practice that for the next seven years was focused on the defense of architectural engineering malpractice claims. In 1996, Fred joined the Powell Trachtman Law Firm in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, finally returning to South Jersey in 2001 to work for the Law Firm of Harris and Greenberg. Most recently, he worked with Thomas G. Smith, Esquire, and Neil Stackhouse, Esquire, in their litigation practices. Fred's quiet and unassuming demeanor hid from many his passionate nature and sly wit. Fred had various interests and he especially loved both traveling to Ireland to visit family, as well as music. If you were fortunate enough to spend an evening with Fred, his guitar and harmonica, you were sure to hear a Springsteen song or two, and everyone joined in with his version of "Sweet Caroline" . . "good times never seemed so good." Fred loved talking with his friends not only about a rock song, but also a quiet, melancholy Emmy Lou Harris ballad. Fred was a talented writer of music and verse. The internet broadened Fred's world, often sharing his funny, outrageous' and political findings on You Tube. We were all surprised by his green thumb; Fred had many plants throughout his home and they all flourished in his care. Fred is predeceased by his parents, Frederick P. Warner, Sr., and Ethel M. Warner (Lang), and his sister; Sister Mary Agnes Warner, R.S.M. He is survived by one uncle, William Lang; cousins Margaret Nowakowski, Dorthea Van Sickle, John Warner and Janice Warner, along with a host of other relatives and caring friends. Funeral Mass in Fred's honor will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, Shore Road, Somers Point. Friends may call from 9:30 am, at the Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Foundation and the Sisters of Mercy at 515 Montgomery Avenue, Merion, PA 19066. I knew Fred because of work he did at the law firm I worked at. He was a very kind man. He was always smiling. My prayers go out to his family.

My memories of Fred are from childhood, when we called him "little Freddie" since his Dad was also named Fred. He was my Mom's first cousin, but he was just a year younger than me. It was always a fun time when we visited his house back in the 60's. I'll always remember one Easter Sunday when we visited, it was snowing in April!

By reading the guestbook, I've discovered he was also a successful attorney and valued friend to many in his adult life. May God bless him.

Fred was a wonderful and caring friend. Erin was very lucky to have had her "Uncle Fred" even for the short time she did. She will never forget him, and neither will I. We love you, Fred.

I've known Fred since 1979. I rode in the Ford Mustang and went to Springsteen and Neil Diamond concerts with him, great memories! He is one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. I will never forget him. I love you Fred.

I worked with Fred for a short time while at Harvey Pennington. He was always very professional and worked very hard. I was saddened to hear of his passing but am glad that I got to know him. Rest well, Fred, rest well.

Fred:

I am so sorry I lost touch with you over the years. Your spirit will always be with us. The memories of your red Mustang, the Springsteen concern we attended in '81, and your incredible sense of humor stick out.

Thank you for being a friend, and now, a guardian angel.

I loved Fred. He was a great guy. His unassuming and self deprecating ways were refreshing in the professional world he chose, especially when he was smarter and wrote better than the majority of the lawyers with whom he interfaced. I am lucky to have a friend in heaven.

Only knew Fred from working at the firm and always thought of him as quiet and serious. Now I know there was another side to him. Everyone will miss him.

Dear Warner Family,

You are in our thoughts and prayers. Fred, "Gaz", Frank, and myself had some great times growing up in the same neighborhood back in the 70's. I was lucky enough to see Fred at the law office late last year, we had a nice discussion. God Bless.
