To the family of Karen Sandland:
I had the oppurtunity to work with Karen on the Aztar Le Merigot Hotel. Karen was great woman. She was very good at her job. She taught me how to pay closer attention to details. She will be missed. GOD BLESS.

Patti (aqua) & Walter,
I don't have the words to express the depth of my sympathy for you and your family and having recently lost my youngest sister I understand the pain you are feeling. It had been years since I last talked to Karen and I don't know if you remember this or not Patti, but Karen was my son Aaron Chickini's Godmother at his christening. After I left Paxton though I lost touch with everyone until recently. Our class network informed me about your (and our) loss and I wanted to make contact. I've been going through some old pics of me and Karen with Aaron hanging with friends and remembering some of time we spent. My heart goes out to you and your family and I will keep you in my prayers. Love, Tina Rapp

Dear Sandland Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Karen on the Tropicana project and was shocked and saddened to hear the news. She always had a smile on her face and a good joke/story to tell. I am glad that I had the pleasure to have worked with such a wonderful individual. She will be missed.

Pat, Terri, Mr Sandland..Karen's Girls, and Walt

Although I didn't have the opportunity to know Karen very well. My dear friendship with Pat has allowed me to hear stories about her baby sister. It has been a pleasure getting to know the Sandland family. You are a warm, friendly, and hysterically funny bunch. Karen was so fortunate to have a wonderful family and you all were blessed with Karen. Stay close, stay strong, never forget one memory of this beautiful person.

In moments of silence
We hear her
In flashes of blindness
We see her
In times of apathy
We feel her
In stages of hunger
She feeds us
And whether we know it or not
In between the pages of our lives
she completes us
And will continue to do so forever...

I worked with Karen for over 8 years in Atlantic City. From Resorts to Tropicanna, I got to know her as an amazing woman. She tackled every problem with an insatiable appetite for solution.
And yet her smile brighted our offices continually.
She is indeed with us every day.

Karen was truly a gentle soul. I remember her with love and laughter for all she met. She and Terri helped me through many difficult times and always made me feel like family. She was so very talented, from baking to sewing to adding her special touch to everything she did. The world was a much better place having had her in it, and now Heaven will be a little bit briter with her loving glow.
