Herbert Morrison Obituary
He was a graduate of D. Webster Davis High School and American Academy of Embalmers and Funeral Directors. He retired from Honeywell Chesterfield Plant, formerly Allied Signal.
Herbert leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 49 years, Doris D. Morrison; two daughters, Allison M. Pierce (Paul) of Chesapeake, Va., and Dorice M. Reavis (Ralph Jr.) of Chester, Va.; three grandsons, Miles X. Pierce and Brandon C. Pierce, both of Chesapeake, Va., and Ashton C. Reavis of Chester, Va.; two brothers, Avery L. Morrison of Petersburg, Va., and Holmes J. Morrison of Raleigh, N.C.; a cousin, Loraine Eversey of Bronx, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Thweatt of Disputanta, Va., and Cheryl Dabney of Potomac, Md.; four brothers-in-law, James Dabney of Dinwiddie, Va., Vernon Dabney (Charlotte) of Pittsburgh, Herbert Dabney (Gladys) of Petersburg, Va., Kevin Dabney (Philomenia) of Dinwiddie, Va.; a number of extended family members, Janice Sanders of Petersburg, Va., and Eugene Morgan of Richmond, Va.; a host of nieces and nephews; a devoted friend of many years, Eugene Anderson of Ettrick, Va.; a co-worker and friend, Glover Pegram of Stoney Creek, Va.; friend and fellow funeral director, Joseph Briscoe Jr.
His remains rest a the W.S. Watkins and Son Funeral Home, 2700 North Ave., Richmond, Va. Visitation and public viewing will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008. Graveside services will be held at noon Sept. 11, 2008, at the Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Va. Family and friends can assemble at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, 5013 Nairn Lane, Chester, VA 23831; telephone (804) 777-9640.
