Barrington Meade Obituary

Mr. Barrington Meade, of 7119 Hunt Road, Jarratt, Va., depated this life on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, at the Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center, Emporia, Va.

He was born Aug. 8, 1910, to the late Willie and Annie Meade. Barrington was a retired farmer and the oldest member of the First Baptist Church family, Jarratt, Va. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Dominia Meade; grandson, Wayne Meade; three sisters, Mable Goode, Hattie Sykes and Virginia Meade.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Vivivan Trisvan; three sons, William Meade (Annie), Rochelle Meade (Dottie), all of Jarratt, and Drewery Meade (Eva) of Petersburg, Va.; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Parham, Emporia, Va.; one nephew; two nieces; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a foster daughter, Mary T. Parker of Newport News; a foster son, George Parham of Jarratt; two devoted caretakers, Rosilind Sheppard and Karen Boone; and a host of relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Mr. Meade will be at noon Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, from First Baptist Church Jarratt, Va., with the Rev. Antonell Myler officiating and the Rev. Antonio Meade eulogizing. The body will be placed in church one hour before service and all family members are asked to assemble at the home of Mr. Barrington by 10:30 am the day of service. The interment will follow in the Hill Family Cemetery.
