Worship should be a lifestyle - not just gathering together and singing to the Lord every Sunday. It is something which should be engraved upon our hearts so that everything we do or say is an act of worship to our Father in Heaven. Unfortunately, we are not perfect, so much of what we do does not bring glory to God, and that is our sinful human nature showing through. God knows that, and He will forgive us when we fail, as long as we earnestly repent and seek His forgiveness when we slip up. So don't give up. Keep your eyes on Him and ask Him to be your guide, and He will know the desire of your heart and will help you to get back on the right path.

When the storms of life are raging all around me, and I don't know which way to turn, it is such a comfort to know that I can always rely on my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, to be my strength when I am at my weakest. He is always there, of that I have no doubt, even though there are times when I forget and try to do things in my own strength instead of leaning on Him. So, please put your trust in Him, because He will never fail you.

HE IS ALWAYS BY MY SIDE
Jesus is the cornerstone
On which I build my life?
He's my Saviour, my Redeemer, and my friend.
He's my refuge, He's my shield,
He's my shelter from the storm,
And on Him, and Him alone, I can depend.

He's the rock of my salvation;
My help in time of need?
When I speak His name my enemies must flee.
When He died upon the cross,
Then rose up from the grave,
From the power of sin and death He set me free.

By His stripes my wounds were healed,
By His blood I've been washed clean -
His love has cast out every fear and doubt,
For His love is never-ending?
It has touched and made me whole,
And I know that He will never cast me out.

His grace is all I need,
His joy will be my strength,
And His Word will light my way and be my guide.
As I wait on Him alone,
His Spirit fills my soul,
And I know that He is always by my side.

September 10, 2008

Whenever I think about the Cross on which my Saviour died for me, I can't help but wonder what I, a lowly sinner, did to deserve that amazing sacrifice. Yet that is what Jesus did. He suffered and died to set me free from all my guilt and shame, and to heal me of all my sickness and pain, and He would have done it even if I had been the only person on earth. So, every day I thank Him for that sacrifice of love.

When I think about the cross

When I think about the Cross
On which my Saviour died,
And about what really happened on that day,
I bow my head in shame
At the price He had to pay
When all my guilt and sins were washed away.

When I think about the nails
They drove into His hands,
And the suffering and shame He had to bear,
I fall down to my knees
In thanks and endless praise,
For it was love for you and me that held Him there.

Then I think about the blood
Flowing from His pierced side,
And the jagged wounds upon His back and head;
And I see it was for me
That He hung upon that tree,
And I've been made clean because that blood was shed.

When they laid Him in the tomb
So cold, so dark, so damp,
They did not know that He would rise again.
But He rose up from the grave
To be by His Father's side,
And there with Him forever He will reign.

He said He'd come again
To take me to His side,
Though I do not know just when that day will be;
But His promises are true,
So I'll keep looking to the sky,
Earnestly waiting for my King to come for me.

September 10, 2008

In His Word God has made us many promises, all of which together add up to giving us a new life in Him. This new life is one of peace, love, joy, hope, encouragement and wonder at the amazing love He has for us. So, as you read His Word, make note of the boundless and wonderful promises He has made to us.

GOD'S PROMISES TO US

God promised us He'd send His Son
To die on the Cross at Calvary.
Oh, what an amazing gift that was ?
It proved how much He loved you and me.

God promised Jesus would rise again
To set us free from death and sin,
And, if we ask Him to forgive,
Our new life we can begin.

He promised to send His Spirit to us,
To be our teacher and our guide,
And to constantly remind us all
That He is always by our side.

He promised that, because Jesus lives,
We now have eternal life,
And that we are no longer bound by sin,
But are set free from pain and strife.

He promised that Jesus would return again,
But we don't know just when that will be.
So keep looking up, always be alert,
For He's coming for you and me.

Yes, God has promised us all these things,
And we know all His promises are true,
So won't you come to Him, bow your knee,
And ask Him to come and dwell in you.

September 10, 2008

MY GOD WILL GO BEFORE ME
My God will go before me?
He's my shelter from the storm.
In Him I'll find a refuge,
And a harbour, safe and warm.

As my foes rise up against me,
He is there to stem the tide?
He will arm me for the battle,
And He's always by my side.

When I'm at my very weakest,
His joy is there to make me strong ?
And when my sorrows overwhelm me,
He will fill my heart with song.

As I stumble through the darkness,
He will be my guiding light ?
He'll make my path both safe and smooth,
For I am precious in His sight.

So, as I keep my eyes on Him,
And I worship at His throne,
I know that He is always near,
And I will never be alone.

September 10, 2008

Do you ever think about the depth of God's love for us? Do you ever think to yourself "How can He love me? I'm not worth it."? I know I do.

God doesn't, though. God loves us despite the fact that we are worthless sinners. That is why He sent His Son to die on the cross in our place.
Oh, what an amazing love that is! It is beyond our comprehension that God would sacrifice His only Son for us, but He did, even though we don't deserve it. So I ask you now to think about just what the Father's love means to you and reach out to Him. He is waiting for you.

DO YOU KNOW THE FATHER'S LOVE?

Do you know the Father's love
The same way that I do?
Do you know He sent His only Son
To die for me and you?

Do you know that Jesus rose again
To sit at His Father's Side,
And that He will soon return to earth
To claim His people as His Bride?

Do you know that He will carry you
When you feel you can't go on,
And that He can fill your heart with peace
When you feel so woebegone?

Do you call on Him in times of need,
And when your load's too much to bear?
Or do you struggle on, all alone,
And think life is so unfair?

Have you given your whole life to Him,
Or just a little part?
Have you asked His Holy Spirit
To come and dwell within your heart?

Do you know that you can call on Him
In times of fear and doubt?
And do you know that He will answer?
He will never shut you out!

I pray you'll come to know His love,
His mercy and His grace,
For His arms are reaching out right now
To enfold you in His embrace.

So lift your eyes toward heaven
And ask Him to forgive,
And He'll walk beside you every day
For as long as you shall live.

i feel that the time is almost here

I feel that the time is almost here
When my Jesus shall come back for me,
But am I ready and fully prepared
To receive such a Holy one as He?

Is my lamp full of oil and burning bright,
As I wait for my Bridegroom to come;
Or have I been lazy and let it go out,
As to the ways of the world I succumb?

Is the desire of my heart to tell others
Of what my Saviour has suffered for them;
That His grace and mercy are freely offered,
And if they repent He'll no longer condemn?

Do I speak only words that encourage,
Which cause others to seek His embrace?
Do I tell them to give Him their doubts and fears,
Which with peace, love and joy He'll replace?

Oh Lord, as I prepare for Your coming,
Please show me what You desire me to do
To bring as many as I can of the hurting
To a deep, abiding relationship with You.

For I want You to consider me worthy
Forever to kneel before Your throne,
And through eternity I'll sing Your praises
And give You the glory that is Yours alone.

So many of us forget that, if we have asked the Lord for His forgiveness and given our lives to Him, we have been washed clean of all our sin and that God now sees us through the blood of Christ, the River of Life which flowed from Christ's body on the Cross. So, no matter how bad you think your sins are, if you are willing to ask for His forgiveness and allow Him to take control of your life, you will be completely changed from the inside out. I urge you to do this, because I truly believe that the time of Christ's return is not far away, and the time is running out for those who have not yet given their lives to Him. Many who have already given their lives to Him still find it hard to believe that God can forgive them for the sins they have committed because they were so bad, so they constantly battle with doubt and fear. This poem was given to me by the Lord as a reassurance that we HAVE been washed clean and we no longer need to feel lost and alone, because Jesus paid the price for us on the Cross.

THERE'S A RIVER OF LIFE WHICH FLOWS

There's a river of life which flows
From the throne of God on high,
And its source is the blood of Jesus,
And it means I will never die.

For when Jesus shed His blood
Upon the cross at Calvary,
He washed me whiter than the snow
And from sin and shame He set me free

That river is an endless stream
Flowing through my heart and soul,
And, as I stand beneath it,
It cleanses me and makes me whole.

At times it flows so peacefully
That it calms my every fear,
But sometimes it flows more vigorously
And reassures me God is near.

It fills my soul with so much joy
That my heart begins to sing,
As I'm reminded of the love
Which a life with Jesus can bring.

So won't you join me in this river,
And let it flood your very soul ?
Please, give your life to Jesus,
And let Him have complete control.

FIX YOUR EYES UPON THE LORD

Fix your eyes upon the Lord,
For He will never forsake you.
His loving arms are reaching out
To comfort and support you.

Fix your eyes upon the Lord,
Cast out all doubt and fear ?
When troubles flood your heart and soul,
Have no doubt that God is near.

Fix your eyes upon the Lord
And don't give up the fight,
For as you struggle through the darkness,
His love will be your light.

So fix your eyes upon the Lord,
And let Him have complete control,
For His love is always there for you ?
He will touch and make you whole.

His love is never-ending,
And His promises are true,
So just fix your eyes upon the Lord,
And He will always see You through.

Dear Father god in heaven
Dear Father God in Heaven,
I am in so much pain,
I don't know how much more that I can take.
Yet You say Your yoke is easy,
That Your burdens are so light,
And You know and guide me through each move I make.

I try to do Your bidding,
And reach out to those in need;
If I was well there'd be much more that I could do.
I want to be Your servant,
To shine Your light upon the world,
But how can I when I feel so sad and blue?

I cry to You each morning,
Reach for You at night,
Yet I feel so lost and totally alone.
I'm tired, sad and weary,
Encumbered with guilt and shame,
Too afraid to step into the dark unknown

I need to feel Your presence
Deep within me every day,
To fill my heart with courage, peace and love.
Please take my hand in Yours
And keep me safe from harm,
'Till You take us home to You in Heaven above.

When You return as promised
For Your eagerly waiting Bride,
To take me to my promised mansion in the sky,
I pray You'll find me worthy
To be taken to Your side,
So forever I can reign with You on high.

May I join the choir of angels
Singing Hallelujah's to my King,
And finally behold You on Your Holy Throne.
Then for all eternity
On bended knee I'll bow,
Singing songs of praise and worship to You alone

When I look around me at the situations that exist in the world today, I am amazed that people are still so blind to the truth of God's Word and what our blessed Father in Heaven has done for His people here on earth. Everything that is happening convinces me more and more that the time is nigh for the Lord to come again to claim His Bride and take us to Heaven to be with Him for all eternity. I pray constantly that people will finally wake up and realise just what the Lord has sacrificed for them and that they will reach out to Him in repentance and ask Him to forgive them and give their lives to Him. So, if you have not already done so, please do this right now, because time is running out.

WHY CAN'T THE PEOPLE SEE?

When I think of how, my God,
Despite all Your mighty deeds,
The world turns its back on You,
And thinks only of its needs,
My heart cries out in pain,
"Oh, why can't the people see
That for them You sent Your Son
To die upon the tree?"

For through Him You've given us
The keys to heaven's door,
And we now have eternal life
And will live forevermore.
For He died to set us free
From our sorrow and our pain,
And now we can feel secure,
And need never fear again.

When He rose up from the grave,
Death lost its painful sting,
And now He reigns with You,
And the host of heaven sing.
Now His Spirit dwells in us,
For You sent Him from above,
And forever we will sing
Of the power of Your love.

So why, oh why, my Lord,
Do the people turn away?
Can't they see how much You care ?
That their ransom He did pay.
Your amazing sacrifice of love
Was for each and every one,
So God, please help them see,
Why You sent Your only Son.

Do you ever wonder where you would be if you hadn't asked the Lord into your life? Just think about what you would have missed out on - wonderful people to fellowship with, people to help you in your times of need, but most of all knowing that, no matter what, there is someone there to catch you if you fall. No matter what we have done in the past, if we truly repent and ask the Lord to take complete control of our lives, we know that He will always be there beside us. How do we know this? It is written in His Word, so it must be true, because God cannot lie.

DEAR LORD, I OFTEN WONDER
Dear Lord, I often wonder
Where I'd be if I'd not met You,
For in my whole life no-one has loved me
In the same way that You do.

Whenever I felt lost or lonely
I never knew which way to turn,
But now I know You're always there
When for Your loving arms I yearn.

When my foes rise up against me
You are my fortress, safe and strong ?
Going through life with You beside me
Is exactly where I belong.

Your Word has been my guiding light
Every moment of every day,
And Your Spirit dwells within me
So from Your paths I will not stray.

So, Father, I want to thank You ?
I lift my voice to You in praise ?
And I promise I will follow You,
Both now and all my days.

Whenever things start to go wrong around me, and the world just seems to be falling in on me, I often say to myself "Why me, Lord?" Then, when I take the time to think about it, I realise that the reason things are happening the way they are is simply because I haven't started the day with a prayer to ask the Lord to guide me and be with me as I go out into the world. He is there always, just waiting for us to ask for His help.

DEAR LORD JESUS, IT'S ME AGAIN
Dear Lord Jesus, it's me again,
Crying out to You in prayer.
I hope that You are listening,
For I know You're always there.

I need Your help, Lord Jesus,
As I go out into the world each day,
For there are so many things around me
Tempting me to go astray.

Please help me not to be envious
Of those who are rich and have good health ?
Help me be satisfied with what I have,
And in Heaven to store my wealth.

Keep me from heeding false doctrine, Lord,
Instead of listening to You,
For in Your Word is all I need,
And every Word written there is true.

Keep me on the straight and narrow path,
And help me Your perfect will to obey.
If I should stumble, please don't let me fall,
But lift me up, my Lord, I pray.

Lord, please hear my humble prayer ?
A cry from deep within my heart.
Help me to keep my eyes fixed on You,
And from Your truth let me never depart.

Whenever I think about the Lord, I am overcome by the power and majesty of His name, and I cannot help but declare the wonder that fills my heart. It brings me to my knees in awe, it fills my heart to overflowing with the wonder of His love, and I feel so small and insignificant that I constantly wonder how He could have given His life for one such as I. But He did, and words are not enough to express the gratitude which fills my heart when I consider all He has done for me.

M - A - J - E - S - T - Y

"M" is for our Mighty God,
Our Creator, Lord and King,
And whenever I think about Him,
It causes my heart to sing.

"A" is for the awe I feel when
I consider what He's done for me,
For He sent His precious Son to die
And shed His blood at Calvary.

"J" is for my Lord Jesus,
My saviour and my friend.
He guides me and protects me,
And His love for me will never end.

"E" is for the empty tomb
From which my Jesus rose again ?
But He's coming back to claim His bride,
Although we do not know just when.

"S" is for the Holy Spirit
Who Jesus sent to dwell in me ?
He is my guide and comforter
And helps me the truth to always see.

"T" is for the treasure
Which awaits me in Heaven above ?
Yes, Jesus has stored it there for me
As a token of His love.

"Y" is for the constant yearning
I have deep within my soul,
That each day will bring me closer to Him
Until He has complete control.

Yes, Jesus reigns in Majesty
On His throne in Heaven above,
And I humbly bow my knees in awe
At the power of His love.

W - O - R - S - H - I - P

"W" is for who we worship,
Our Saviour and our King,
For He alone is worthy
Of the offerings that we bring.

"O" is for the open heart
We bring before His throne
As we bow our knees before Him
And praise Him, and Him alone.

"R" is for the righteousness
We have through His shed blood,
For we were washed as white as snow
When it poured out like a flood.

"S" is for our shame and sin
Which were the reason that He came,
And now, because He died for us,
Our lives will never be the same.

"H" is for the happiness
He has brought into my life,
For when He came into my heart
He set me free from pain and strife.

"I" is for the immenseness
Of His love and mighty power
For He is our fortress and our shield,
And our strong and mighty tower.

"P" is for the praise we give
To our Father up above
For He alone is worthy
Of our honour and our love.

So fall on your knees and worship
Before His holy throne,
And give Him all the glory
Due to Him, and Him alone.

GOD'S LOVE IS LIKE. . .
God's love is like the summer rain,
For it will flood your very soul...
It will cleanse you; it will heal you;
It will touch you and make you whole.

God's love is like a fountain ?
From it living waters pour.
As you stand beneath its constant stream,
Your wounded heart it will restore.

God's love is like a gentle breeze
As it blows upon your face.
It will soothe you and refresh you,
And fear and doubt it will erase.

God's love is like a fortress,
So mighty and so strong.
Within its walls He'll shelter you
When the nights are dark and long.

God's love is like a harbour ?
A haven from the storm ?
And there you'll find a refuge
For the battered and the torn.

God's love is like a river,
For it never will run dry.
In His love you'll find such joy and peace,
And HIS LOVE WILL NEVER DIE.

Hold on to your dreams

Through life’s trials

Life isn’t as hard as it may seem

Grasp tight to those dreams

Do not lose your hold

Look beyond your enemies schemes

Do not allow your doubts and fears

To cause you to tremble

Find a way through your tears

With each new day take a step

Towards your life’s goals

Remember those ideas in your heart you have kept

Let no one discourage you

Or turn you aside

Don’t let life’s obstacles make you feel blue

Keep your dreams before your eyes

Believe in yourself and your abilities

And someday much to your surprise

Your goal you will have reached

God has given you a blue print

That if you just follow your goal will be achieved

Just hold on to your dreams

The Lord is glorious

Come into His presence with thanksgiving

Sing for joy at His name

He is a refuge in times of need

He is a guide to the confused

He is a shelter from the enemy’s fiery darts

Within your heart He plants a seed

Watered it will grow and glorify Him

He who deserves all our praises

Unwatered it will wither and die

Leaving an empty feeling inside

Pour His living water upon that seed

Look, pursue, and find

The Lord is good

Seek and you will find Him

Reach out and He will come

Speak and He listens

Bow down, worship the Lord your God

He who is worthy

Will come to you

Lifting you up

Restoring your hope

Bringing you peace

Give all to the Lord

For He is Lord over all

The battle is His

He is the Most High God

He is Lord of life

He is your ever present comfort

Go, go to Him

Live in Him

Lay down your life

And take up His

Only He can be all you need

Only He can fill your broken heart

Only He can give you eternal life

Praise His holy name

For He is the Lord glorious

Come to Him

Come, and receive His love

Rest my child.

Rest in my arms.

Quiet your restless thoughts.

Sit quietly at my knee.

I know of your pain.

I know of your suffering.

I know you inside.

I know you outside.

I know my plans for you.

Cease you relentless worries.

Drop all your sadness and cares.

Come and sit with me.

Come and be refreshed.

Let me handle all your troubles.

Let me turn your sorrows into joy.

Release your firm grip

On all of the what ifs and whys.

Do you not realize I have the solution?

Do you not know I hold you in my hand?

I am working it all out.

I will not fail you.

I will lift you up.

I will take care of you.

You are my child.

You are precious to me.

Let go and let me.

Come, come and sit at my knee.

Rest my child.

Rest in me.

Father in heaven

Hear my cry

Father in heaven

Hear my plea

Help me to see

Your will in my life

Show me your ways

In all I do

Father in heaven

Guide my path

Father in heaven

Surround me with love

Cleanse my mind

Of all its doubts

Remove far from me

All my fears.

Father in heaven

Hold me close

Father in heaven

Hear my pleas

As here I pray on my knees

Contrite, humbled and openly ready

For Your touch upon me

Father in heaven

Help me each day

Father in heaven

In Your arms I would stay

Help me to remember

To You each day

I should aim my heart

And pray to You before I start

Oh the wonder of God’s love!

It descends like a dove

So gentle and soft

And stays there aloft.

It surrounds us with peace

And give us wondrous release.

He lets us abide there

While giving of a love that has no compare.

We as His children can in His lap

Climb up without fear of any mishap.

He as a Father holds His arms out wide

Saying, "Come, in My love you can abide.

I will be your protection and shield

And in the face of your enemy, I will never yield.

You are my child, my dear one.

I fought for you and won!"

So surrender your heart to my Lord.

He will always give His love in very sweet accord.

Always Here

Sometimes it's hard to understand,
why things happen as they do.
Especially when you lose someone,
who has been a friend to you.

We know not of tomorrow,
but one thing we can be sure....
God knows your grief and sorrow,
he will help you to endure.

You'll always have the memories,
of someone who did care.
Will remember a special friendship,
and the times you two did share.

I'm always here if you need a friend.
Just know you can call on me.
I hope that when tomorrow comes,
a brighter day that you may see.

September 9, 2008

What a blessing it has been
To have you for my Brother!
The feeling that I have for you
Is special as none other.

Always there when I am sad
Telling me of our Father's love.
You help me see the blessings
He has sent me from above.

Whenever I may need a friend
I know I can call on you.
You always know just how to help
In the things you say and do.

There will always be a place for you
One that I have set apart.
It's filled with love and thankfulness.
For YOU! within my heart.

Sharing in your sorrow
Thinking of you and wishing
I could be there
to hold your hand.

*

You're in our thoughts
Please know how much
you are loved
and how deeply
your loss is felt by all.

*

Thinking of You
Wishing you hope
in the midst of sorrow,
comfort in the midst of pain.

With Heartfelt Sympathy

*

Remembering with you...
...the life of someone so dear.

With Sincerest Sympathy

*

May hope and peace
be yours today and always.

With Sympathy

*

The sorrow of the faithful
is not that of permanent loss,
but the tender sense of sadness
that comes in saying good-bye for now
to someone we love.
May today's sorrow give way
to the peace and
comfort of God's love.

*

There is comfort in friendship,
hope in prayer,
peace in love.

Sharing in your sorrow
with love and friendship.

*

May the love of those around you,
help you through the days ahead.

With Sincerest Sympathy

*

Someone so special...
...can never be forgotten.

Thinking of You with Sympathy

*

Gentle thoughts during these difficult days

*

May it make your sorrow
Easier for you to bear
Knowing there are others
Who understand and care.

*

May knowing you're
in the hearts and thoughts of others
help you and yours
through this time of sorrow.

*

Extending deepest sympathy
For you in your loss.
And hoping, too,
That comfort and peace
May come to you.

*

This comes to say
That many thoughts,
Sincere as they can be,
Are going out to you today
In deepest sympathy.

*

At a time like this, we are at a loss for words
to express our condolence to someone who has lost a loved one.
How to say it to bring comfort?
How to say that we care?
How to say that we understand?

*

It will be the little things
that you will remember,
the quiet moments,
the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem
hard right now,
it will be the memories
of these little things
that help to push
away the pain
and bring the smiles
back again.

With Loving Memories

*

Praying for friends to comfort you,
faith to uphold you,
and loving memories
to help you smile again.

With Sincerest Sympathy

*

At this time of sorrow,
may these truths sustain you...
Your loved one will always
be as close as a memory,
and the God of all comfort
will always be as
close as a prayer.

With Deepest Sympathy

*

Words, however kind,
can't mend your heartache:
but those who care and
share your loss wish you
comfort and peace of mind.
May you find strength
in the love of family
and in the warm embrace
of friends.

God Knows

You have my deepest sympathy,
but it really doesn't help.
Your grief goes beyond
what words can express.

There's nothing anyone can say,
and nothing we can do
to heal your broken heart
or take away your pain.

Let God take you in His arms
and cover you with His love.
He knows the depth of your grief
and only He can give you peace.
He knows it will take time
for your heart to heal, and
your loved one has a place
that no one else can fill.

If there's any comfort let it be in this,
your loved one is with Jesus,
in a home that's filled with bliss.
There are no tears in Heaven,
no more heartache and no pain,
only love and happiness
for all eternity.

We must go on living and
do the best we can,
then when Jesus calls our name
we will be with them again.

Hello God

Hello God, I called tonight,
To talk a little while.
I need a friend who'll listen
To my anxiety and trial.

You see, I can't quite make it
Through a day just on my own,
I need your love to guide me,
So I'll never feel alone.

I want to ask you please to keep,
My family safe and sound
Come and fill their lives with confidence,
For whatever fate they're bound.

Give me faith, dear God, to face,
Each hour throughout the day
And not to worry over things,
I can't change in any way.

I thank you God, for being home,
And listening to my call
For giving me such good advice
When I stumble and fall.

Your number, God, is the only one
That answers every time
I never get a busy signal,
And never had to pay a dime.

So thank you, God, for listening
To my troubles and my sorrow
Good night, God. I love You, too,
And I'll call again tomorrow!

There is a place I go to rest
At the feet of God
There is a place where I am blessed
At the feet of God
There are times when I am weak
At the feet of God
He knows my needs before I speak
At the Feet of God

He Knows my name my soul is claimed
At the Feet of God
Still The same oh, Praise his name
At the feet of God

There's safety from the raging storm.
At the feet of God
The love that keeps me from all harm
Is at the feet of God
A healing Power flows for me
At the Feet of God
His blood will cleanse and make me free
At the feet of God

Still the same oh praise his name
At the Feet of God.
