Ruby was a co-worker and friend for over 25 years at Surry Elementary. I have many wonderful memories of her. We will all truly miss her beautiful smile, joyful laughter, and caring ways.
She was the epitome of the phrase "No child left behind". She worked tirelessly with each and every child in her class to make sure that they grasped each concept that she taught. She had the patience of Job.
She went out of her way to help anyone in need. Her life was a testament to her loving Christian spirit.
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Over fifteen years ago I was one of the fortuate people that was taught by Mrs. Judkins. She once told me that, "There is only one person in this world that can make things happen for you in this life...yourself". I find myself using this very statement each day with my own students, and I feel so blessed that I was one of the many lives that she touched and empowered with these words.I can count the number of teachers on one hand who made that kind of impact on my life, and I can truly say that I will remember her greatness forever. Her infinite patience, her unyeilding devotion to guide all those who walked into her classroom and in her life, and her overwhelming care and tenderness not only made her an incredible teacher but an even more incredible person. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family and the many people whose lives were made better just by knowing her.

My family will always be thankful to Mrs. Judkins for taking our daughter Erin under her wing 20 years ago. The love, patience and wisdom expressed by Mrs. Judkins will live on in every child who ever had the privilege to enter her classroom. Surry Elementary was truly blessed to have her as a part of their community for so many years. May God continue to bless and keep you now and always.

To the family of Ruby Judkins,
Ruby was a devoted teacher and mentor to many at Surry Elementary. I have heard many good things over the 10 years that I have had the opportunity to know her. She was a caring and loving person. I know she has left a positive impression on many a child that passed through her classroom and will be deeply missed.
May God bless her family during these trying times.

To Charles and Family: My prayers are with you. Just reading about Ruby cause me to think about one of my emails:
"Sharing is being so open to life
That your own special beauty shines through
In all of the generous, wonderful things
That you so freely offer and do,
Sharing is sensing the feelings of others
And then going out of your way
To reach out in kindness and make
a real difference in somebody’s out look or day…"
Ruby's works has spoken for her.

A ROSE FOR MY MOM IN HEAVEN

A ROSE FOR MY MOM IN HEAVEN
FOR EVERY ROSE I BRING TO YOU
IS NEVER ENOUGH TO PAY,
FOR ALL THE LOVE YOU HAVE GIVEN ME
EACH AND EVERY DAY.

FOR EVERY TEARDROP THAT WILL FLOW
COULD NEVER BRING YOU BACK.
BUT ALL MY MEMORIES THAT I HOLD
WILL ALWAYS BE INTACT.

THIS ROSE IS JUST A SIMPLE WAY
OF SHOWING YOU HOW I FEEL
AND PERHAPS SOMEDAY AS TIME GOES BY
THE LONELY DAYS WILL HEAL.

YOUR FACE IS JUST A MEMORY NOW
THATS STORED INSIDE MY HEART
AND THERE WILL COME A DAY, DEAR MOM
WHEN WE WILL NEVER PART.

~~ Are You Ready For Jesus ~~

THIS WORLD IS ALMOST OVER NOW
JESUS WILL SOON RETURN,
TO TAKE HIS CHILDREN HOME WITH HIM
BUT YET SOME HAVE NO CONCERN.

HOW AWFUL IT WILL BE THAT DAY
FOR THOSE WHO DID NOT CARE.
GOD KNOCKED SO OFTEN AT THEIR HEART
BUT THEY HAD NO TIME TO HEAR.

YOUR SCREAMS OF SORROW WILL BE TO LATE
WHEN GOD FINALY SHUTS THE DOOR.
THE TEARS YOU SHED WILL BE IN VAIN,
FOR HE WILL KNOCK NO MORE.

OH, WON'T YOU GIVE HIM YOUR HEART TODAY?
TURN AWAY FROM YOUR SIN AND SHAME,
I PROMISE YOU ONE THING FOR SURE
YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.

@@@ When I See You In Heaven@@

IF I GET TO HEAVEN BEFORE YOU DO
THERE WILL BE THINGS I HAVE TO DO
I WILL ASKED MY LORD TO HELP ME
TO MAKE AN AWARD FOR YOU.

FOR ALL THE TIMES YOU HAVE BLESSED ME
FOR YOUR KIND AND CARING WAYS,
AND ALL THE TIME,YOU TOOK OF YOURSELF
TO HELP MY STRUGGLE EACH DAY.

FOR BEING A FRIEND AND A BROTHER TO
AND FOR THE TIMES YOU TOUCHED MY HEART
AND FOR LOVING ME,AND ACCEPTING ME
RIGHT FROM THE VERY START.

AND IF JESUS PERMITS TO DO THIS FOR YOU
YOUR AWARD WILL BE WRITTEN IN GOLD,
BECAUSE OF THE BLESSING YOU HAVE BEEN
YOUR AWARD WILL THEN UNFOLD.

I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW FROM MY HEART
THAT YOU ARE A BLESSING IN EVERY WAY,
AND WHEN I MEET YOU SOMEDAY IN HEAVEN
I WILL KNOW WHAT WORDS TO SAY.

@@@ The Friends That Touch My Heart @@@

GOD GIVES ME SO MANY BLESSINGS
SOME ARE BIG,OTHERS SMALL,
BUT THE BLESSINGS HE GAVE ME IN LIFE
ITS HARD TO NAME THEM ALL.

HE HAS GIVEN ME MANY ONLINE FRIENDS
THAT MEAN THE WORLD TO ME,
WITHOUT THEIR FRIENDSHIP AND SUPPORT
I COULD NEVER BE REALLY SEE.

JUST HOW PRECIOUS LIFE REALLY IS
NO MATTER HOW ROUGH THE ROAD,
GOD GAVE ME CARING ANGELS,
TO HELP ME LIGHTEN THE LOAD.

SOME I NEVER MET YET IN THIS LIFE
AND SOME I MAY NEVER SEE,
UNTIL THE DAY WE REACH HEAVEN
WHERE WE WILL SPEND ETERNITY.

TO YOU ALL, THAT IS MY FRIEND HERE
I JUST WANTED YOU ALL TO KNOW,
I WOULD NOT TRADE OUR FRIENDSHIP
FOR ANY SILVER OR GOLD.

When The windows of Heaven Are Open@@@

WHEN THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN DO OPEN
THEN BLESSINGS WILL START TO FALL,
ON ALL WHO BELIEVE IN HIS PROMISE
AND ON ALL WHO HEEDED HIS CALL........

THE SPIRIT OF GOD HAS MUCH POWER
AND HE WILL FILL YOUR HEART AND SOUL,
HE WILL FILL YOUR LIFE WITH SUNSHINE
THAT WILL GLITTER LIKE PURE GOLD........

HE WILL GIVE YOU PEACE AND COMFORT
A PEACE LIKE YOU HAVE NEVER KNOWN
HE WILL GIVE YOU A SHIELD OF PROTECTION
SO YOU WONT FEEL SO ALONE.......

WHEN THE WINDOWS OF HEAVEN DO OPEN
ARE YOU READY,WHEN THEY START TO FALL,
FOR JESUS IS WILLING TO POUR THEM
BE READY TO ANSWER HIS CALL.......
~~Roadstop To Heaven~~

ROADSTOP TO HEAVEN

THIS JOURNEY IS A ROAD STOP
ON OUR WAY TO HEAVENS SHORE,
THEN OUR SUFFERING WILL BE OVER
AND WE WILL REST FOREVERMORE...

NO MORE TRIALS HERE TO HAUNT US
AND BRING US DOWN EACH DAY,
NO MORE WORRIES OF TOMORROW,
FOR IN HEAVEN WE WILL STAY...

ALL THOSE TEARS YOU HAVE CRIED BEFORE
WILL BE FOREVER DRY,
AND WE WILL SING NEW SONGS OF PRAISE
IN OUR NEW HOME ON HIGH.....

JUST ANOTHER ROAD STOP FRIEND
AND ANOTHER MILE TO GO,
THEN YOUR JOURNEY WILL BE OVER
DOWN HERE ON EARTH BELOW......
Gone To A New Home In Heaven ~~

GONE TO A NEW HOME IN HEAVEN
NOW WHERE THE ANGELS HAVE TROD,
GONE TO BE WITH HIS MASTER,
GONE TO THE GLORY OF GOD

WE WILL STRONGLY MISS YOU'
AND YOUR GENTLE CARING WAY
THE SMILE YOU ALWAYS HAD WITH YOU
TO BRIGHTEN SOMESONES DAY

STARS ARE NEEDED IN HEAVEN
AND 1 MORE HAD TO GO,
TO HELP PREPARE THE MANSION
THAT WAITS FOR US IN GOLD....

BUT WE WILL ALWAYS KEEP YOU CLOSE
IN THE CENTER OF OUT HEART,
UNTIL THE DAY WE MEET AGAIN
NEVER MORE TO PART,,,,,,,,
My Little Heaven Of Rest ~~

I HAVE A LITTLE COTTAGE NEAR
THAT LIES BETWEEN THE TREES
TO ME ITS IS MY HAVEN OF REST
WITH THE LAKE AND GENTLE BREEZE

IN THE SUMMER TIME I GO THERE
JUST TO GET AWAY,
FROM ALL THE STRESS IN LIFE
THAT HAUNTS ME NIGHT A DAY.

I LIKE TO PLANT SOME FLOWERS
AND WATCH THEM AS THEY GROW
I LIKE TO SPEND ALL DAY OUTSIDE
AND SEE THE SUNSHINE GLOW

IT GIVES ME PEACE AND COMFORT
TO SEE THE STARS AT NIGHT,
AND THE MOONLIGHT OH,SO PERFECT
IT FILLS MY HEART WITH DELIGHT,

WHEN I AM GONE AWAY
WHEN I AM GONE AWAY

WHEN THE DAY MUST COME
THAT I MUST GO,
AND LEAVE THIS WORLD BEHIND
REMEMBER ME WHEN FLOWERS BLOOM
I WILL NOT BE FAR BEHIND.

REMEMBER ALL THE GOOD TIMES
WE SHARED THROUGHOUT THIS LIFE
REMEMBER ALL THE LOVE WE SHARED
AND HOW WE AVOIDED ALL THE STRIFE.

REMEMBER ALL THE HAPPY DAYS
WHEN OUR HEARTS WAS FULL OF GLEE,
REMEMBER ALL THE PROMISES WE MADE
THAT WOULD BE FOREVER FREE.

REMEMBER HOW MUCH I LOVED YOU
AND THE GOOD TIMES WE DID SHARE,
REMEMBER ALL THE TEARS YOU DRIED
WHEN MY BURDENS I COULD NOT BARE.

AND REMEMBER I AM WITH JESUS NOW
AND PLEASE DO NOT BE SAD.
FOR IN THIS LIFE DOWN HERE BELOW
YOUR THE BEST FRIEND I EVER HAD.

THE HEAVENS DECLARE

Some people never look and see

The miracles in the sky,

The magnificence of a sunrise

Or fleecy clouds drifting by.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

They miss the glory of a sunset,

The lovely rainbow hues

And what could have more splendor

Than a starry night to view.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The heavens declare the glory of God,

And I thank you Lord for eyes to see

All the beauty and the wonder

You placed in the sky for me.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I stand in awe of your presence

As I gaze at the marvels you display

For no human hand could ever form

Such a grand and glorious array.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

No artist’s brush could ever paint

All the beauty that I see.

No poet’s words could ever describe

What that beauty means to me.

Rejoice in the Lord always,

Do not worry about tomorrow.

Go to God in humble prayer

And give Him all your sorrows.

Rejoice and let your needs be known

For God is faithful, just and kind,

And His peace that surpasses understanding

Will guard your heart and mind.

Rejoice in your laughter,

Rejoice in your tears,

For in your rejoicing

Comes strength for your fears.

Rejoice in the Lord always,

His loving kindness we can’t measure.

Rejoice and be thankful for His love

You'll have no greater treasure.

You see me with gossamer wings

Dressed in robes of purest white,

Glistening like gold

With a heavenly light.

You see me as a child

With innocence sweet,

Laughing, dancing, singing

Around the throne; at Jesus’ feet.

You see me in a friend

Who is tried and true

And you know I was sent

Down to earth for you.

I am none of these,

And yet I am all.

I am spirit, I am essence,

Sent to answer your call.

I feel the beat of your heart,

I hear the pleas of your soul,

And softly whisper wisdom

So you may reach your goal.

You hear my whisper

So soft and sweet in your ear

And you know all is well,

There’s nothing to fear.

For I’m always by your side.

I look upon all your ways,

I am here for guidance

When your lonely heart strays.

I guide your footsteps

That you may not stumble

And you may know me only,

When your heart is humble.

I’m your guardian angel

Sent from our Father above

To guide your heart and soul

To His eternal love.

So when you feel my presence,

Know the work that I do

Is simply because, of the love

Our Father has for you.

THE JOURNEY

I went upon a journey when I was but a youth,

Seeking answers to life’s questions, searching for great truths.

I traveled through the pages of an old and sacred book,

Finding great adventures on every page I looked.

I saw the world created and dwelled in a garden fair,

Until the hand of evil came and planted his seeds there.

I sailed upon an ocean for forty days and nights,

Soared on the wings of a dove as it lifted up in flight.

I traveled through a wilderness, over deserts hot and dry.

I met a man named Abraham, whose hope, on God, relied.

I journeyed to distant lands, met with prophets and with kings.

Fought in mighty battles wielding arrows, swords and slings.

Then I rested in a stable where a tiny baby lay,

I watched Him grow into a man and followed Him on His way.

I walked upon the water of a raging, storm tossed sea.

But the hardest journey of all, was when He led me to Calvary.

I cried as they nailed Him to a cross, watched as He died upon that tree.

Oh, how my soul did mourn to know, He died there just for me.

I watched as they laid Him in a tomb and rolled the stone in place.

Down on bended knee I knelt, in thanks for His saving grace.

But, oh how my heart rejoiced on that great and fateful day,

When I watched the angels from glory as they rolled the stone away.

I watched Him ascend to Heaven and sit on a golden throne.

I listened as He promised, never to leave me all alone.

So, I went on with my journey, trusting Him to be my guide,

And just as He had promised, He stayed right by my side.

Oh, I’ve traveled through the ages, but soon my journey will be o’er,

When I travel to my home on a beautiful, golden shore.

I hope you’ve taken the journey for it is my fervent prayer,

That our roads will cross in Heaven and I will meet you there.

Oh, I know sometimes the road gets long and hard to tread

But just hold on to the faith, that by a loving hand you’re led.

Then we’ll shout His praise together, sing and dance around His throne,

Giving thanks for His love and guidance on the journey to our home.

GOD’S GOLDEN MEADOW

The meadow flowers are in bloom

but I sit alone inside my room,

saddened by things that I have seen

and dreaming how life once had been.

I go back in time to yesterday

when with my friends I used to play

in a golden meadow beyond the hill,

so fresh in my mind, it lingers still.

But I must not dream of yesterday

I must go forward, come what may.

I can’t let sad things be in control

and destroy the laughter in my soul.

For sad things come and sad things go

and deep down inside, this I know;

that one day mans inhumanity will cease

when our dear Lord returns, with peace.

So I’ll go out in that meadow fair

and pick a daisy for my hair.

I’ll dream no more of yesteryear

For God has taken all my fear.

There will be wars and rumors of wars

but my destiny lies beyond the stars.

In Gods golden meadow, far, far away,

I’ll walk with Jesus, some sweet day.

SOMEWHERE IN TIME

Somewhere in time, not as we know it here,

we’ll meet with all our loved ones

held in our heart so dear.

Somewhere in time they will meet us,

the ones who have gone on before,

so happy they’ll be to greet us,

over on God’s beautiful shore.

And the longing we’ve had for them

down through the lonely years

will be swept away in the tide

of our overflowing tears.

Forever we will be together

with loved ones, yours and mine;

over on God’s golden shore

they’re waiting, somewhere in time.
