To the world greatest Grandmother and Great Grandmother....your memories of the wonderful things you did and the wonderful knowledge that you gave will not be forgotten. They all live within us one way or another. You were the one that I cried to when I was hurting and the one I laughed with when I was happy. I just wanted to say that I love you and I know that you are in a better place now. Take the kind words that you have told me and my kids to heaven with you and you will be okay. Trust and believe I may have not done everything that you said but guess what Grandma I was always listening. I loved you then, I love you know, and most of all I will continue to carry my love for you on a daily basis in my heart. I will never forget you, nor will I ever let anyone else forget you. I love you with all of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before I go please tell my Grandfather I said hello. I know in my heart that you are happy that you and him are finally reunited. I am!!!!!!!!!!

My dearest Aunt Florence,

I wish I had some more time to tell you that I care.
I wish I had some time to say some things, but I know that you are aware.
I wish I had some reason why God put you through the test.
But now I know, you've done your part, and now, go take your rest.
Hattie, Lloyd, George and Carrie are gonna miss you, I know.
But we're here on this earth for a little while, so now I must bid you go.
Sheila and Mamie will be alright, and so will all the grandkids.
They will never forget all the love that you gave and the things you did.
So now, Aunt Florence, be with Uncle Arthur, and join him forever more.
I LOVE YOU FLORENCE ESTELLE PRITCHETT, the one whom I adore.

Your Great-nephew, Robbie

A Peaceful Walk

There's a little path
Going down in the field,
It leads into the forest
Which offers it a shield

The path will fade
As the leaves take over
The stillness there,
Is like none other

The silence of the trees
The stillness of the air
The nature all around
Is what God sent us to share!

A little farther down the way,
Is a parting, and a little brook
Where water flows so gently
Figures dance in it, if you only look.

Then staring at the trees so tall
You see the sun glimmer down
Through limbs and branches
---touching down to the ground

The walk in the woods
Has turned into a peaceful time
That leads you to see
God's loving sign,
His creation!!

To me the best time of the day is early morning,
when all is fresh and new. Yesterday is in the past
and I have a brand new day to experience. I love
to sit on my deck outside and just gaze at the hills.
There is so much peace and tranquility in the early
mornings. The fog in the hills slowly rises as the sun
peeks through, and the birds begin their day, flittering
around, in search of food and welcoming the day.
I enjoy just sitting, browsing and talking to the Lord,
and this time of the day belongs only to Him.

I have written a few poems to express early
morning feelings, and hope you enjoy them.

LET ME NOT FORGET

Dear Lord, the rush seems so never ending
The duties to do, the necessities we face
But Lord let me not forget tending
The responsibilities to You, this day.

You have always had time to help me
Whether sick, sad, or just in prayer
So let me never forget to call on you
Each day, whether in peace or despair

You are the way, the truth, and my lighthouse

Lord, please be with me today and forever.
Help me to stay on the right path, and have victory through you.

MY MORNING GREETING

Today I walked outside to meet a brand new day,
Say my morning prayer, and be closer to Thee.
What a pleasure to feel your presence, and know
You planned this day of beauty, for all to see.

With the birds out singing, and the sun shining bright
And the sweet smell of fragrant flowers in the air
It is all so lovely, a time of peace fills my heart
To know you created all of this, beauty beyond compare.

You made the day, the hour and minute to be so perfect.

Thank you, Lord!!

WHY? ~~~~
Perhaps one day we’ll understand
Why God decided to take your hand
And lead you into Heaven above
surrounded by his tender love.

Never does a day pass by
that we don’t ask the question why?
Why did God take our precious son?
Was it something we had done?

We hope to face the Lord one day
and ask him why you couldn’t stay
on earth with those who loved you so,
those who wanted to see you grow.

We mourn for the things that will not be,
for the things with you, we'll never see.
the fun and games we'll never share,
for special times when you won't be there

No more to see your smiling face,
Nothing will ever take its place,
In our hearts you will always stay,
While we await that 'One Sweet Day'.

That 'One Sweet Day' in Heaven above,
Where we will meet and affirm our love.
Once more our arms will hold you tight,
As in God's presence we'll reunite.

Until that day, we must live our lives
Ensuring each memory of you survives,
And feel your presence, ever near,
each time we shed each painful tear.

"See you in Heaven", you'll hear us say,
as you watch over us every day,
Then when our lives on earth are done
We know you'll be the one to come.

You'll take us gently by the hand,
and lead us to God's Heavenly land,
where all together we will be,
our, once more, happy family.

Warm Summer Sun

Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

Music, when soft voices die

Music, when soft voices die,
Vibrates in the memory—
Odours, when sweet violets sicken,
Live within the sense they quicken.

Rose leaves, when the rose is dead,
Are heaped for the beloved's bed;
And so thy thoughts, when thou art gone,
Love itself shall slumber on.

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

Nature

As a fond mother, when the day is o'er,
Leads by the hand her little child to bed,
Half willing, half reluctant to be led,
And leave his broken playthings on the floor,
Still gazing at them through the open door,
Nor wholly reassured and comforted
By promises of others in their stead,
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more;
So Nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently, that we go
Scarce knowing if we wish to go or stay,
Being too full of sleep to understand
How far the unknown transcends the what we know.
