To Jhanae, Rayqwaun, and the family:

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ms. Short. I offer my deepest, heartfelt sympathy to the family. My heart truly aches for Jhanae and Rayqwaun; they loved their mother so much. I only pray that they will be cherished, loved, and cared for just as deeply and nurturing as Ms. Short did. I worked with Jhanae during the school year 2006-2007 and I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Short. Ms. Short was truly a devoted mother. She always strongly advocated for her children that they received the best education and services needed to ensure their academic success. She will solely be missed. Jhanae, I love you sweetie and I will continue to pray for you, Rayqwaun, and Ke'Andre. May God bless, comfort, and strengthen you today, tomorrow, and always.

What is that shining way up high?

Is it my Lord who has come nigh?

What is that sound I hear?

Is it His voice that is so clear?

I can see beauty in the clouds.

A path so narrow and yet so dear.

As it nears that place up there

At its gates I can only stare.

Mansions so pretty and streets of gold

My eyes in awe, they do behold.

It seems so very far and yet so near.

I long to draw closer and watch my Lord appear.

All the days of my life on earth

Will soon seem so small and of little worth.

My Lord will in His arms

Hold me near and far from harm.

There will be such joy, such peace

My spirit will rejoice for sweet release!

That day is drawing ever so close.

It will happen sooner than I imagine, I suppose.

I lift my eyes in longing and desire

To behold His glory and His fire.

On that day when I hear His call

I will not hesitate nor will I fall.

I will not look back because I know the end of the story.

I will gladly tread upon that path to glory!

Why is it we are so impatient

For the answer to our prayer

Each time we petition the Lord?

And why is it we are so unhappy

When that answer isn’t the one

That we thought was right for us?

Have we all forgotten that God

Is our loving Father and always knows

What is the best way to answer those prayers?

Do we need to be reminded constantly

That the Lord knows all our needs

Even before we cry out to Him?

Why can’t we be content

And accept the way God works things out?

We often think we know the best answer

And try to manipulate

And bargain with the Lord

If only He would see things our way.

But like the loving Father that He is

He gives us what we really need.

Not what our selfish minds think we should have.

All of us need to learn to accept God’s way

And put aside our "me first" attitudes.

Our Lord Jesus gave us the greatest example

When in the garden He asked the Father

To spare His life and find another way.

But when the Father said

The sacrifice He must make

Our Lord Jesus accepted

And said these simple words

"Not my will but thine".

The Father gives to each

The perfect answer for each prayer

And He gives it in perfect timing.

Let’s all endeavor to say

"Not my will but thine"

no matter the answer He gives.
There are times when I feel so alone.

It seems there is no one who cares.

But in my heart I know this is not true.

For wherever I go, whatever I do,

I have a constant companion.

He is there in my darkest hour,

And in happy times too.

I cannot hide from Him,

Nor can I run away.

He always knows where I am

And what I am going through.

When I am down, it’s hard to see the light.

And when I am up, it is hard to remember it.

But my companion waits patiently

For me to acknowledge Him,

To seek Him and spend time with.

He never turns away or gets too busy.

I only have to call out,

He is instantly there.

My companion is my Lord and Savior,

The Lord Jesus, the shepherd of my soul.

He knew me before I was born.

And has watched over me everyday of my life.

He guides me gently but allows me to make mistakes.

He reaches out with loving arms each time I fall.

He knows my every thought,

And the motivations of my heart.

He will be there to guide me home

The day that I breathe my last.

Someday I will see Him face to face

And be able to feel His sweet embrace.

What a joyful day that will be!
sit in awe and wonder

As I contemplate the many blessings

The Father has given to me.

He has blessed me with good health

And the ability to earn a living.

He has provided for my every need

Throughout all the valleys of my life.

He has given me two precious sons

Who have grown into two wonderful men.

He has blessed me with intelligence

To read and learn more of him.

He has planted a deep love

For all the children who through my classroom pass.

He has bestowed on me the gift of encouragement

To reach out to others when they are discouraged.

He has brought me many friends

That are there when I need them most.

He has given me hearing

With which to listen to the music around me.

He gave me my sight

To see all the beauty He has created.

But the richest and best of all

Are His love and the sacrifice of His Son

That I might live eternally.

Blessed be this day

For the Lord, in His goodness

Has given us this day

He has given us freely

Of His love and grace

And taken care of our every need

His creation shows us in its display

How awesome and wondrous He is

He holds our world suspended

In dark space so vast

And shines his light upon us

He breathes His breath of life upon us

Each moment of the day

That we may be a beacon

That draws the lost to Him

He knows our every thought

And sees each tear that falls

When trials and tribulations

Batter our lives and minds

In His loving graciousness

He turns our enemy’s fiery darts

Into arrows of blessings

For all the world to see

He does not promise

That in this earthly life

Our path will be smooth and trouble free

But He does promise to walk beside us

Guiding us through each peril

And in the end when life’s last breath

Has left our earthly shell

He will snatch us from

Our vile foe’s ensnaring grasp

Taking us swiftly to sit in heavenly places

So, if the Lord, in His graciousness

Has granted you another day

To walk upon this earthly orb

Direct your sight and mind

Towards heaven and declare

BLESSED BE THIS DAY!

Sing praises to our God!

Sing praises to the Holy One!

Extol His mighty works!

Shout of His glorious deeds!

Let all the earth hear

Of our gracious Lord

Who gives abundantly

Of His riches to those who love Him

And tenderly cares for the down fallen

His compassion knows no bounds

His mercy is boundless

His love is deeper, higher and wider

Than all creation

Sing joyfully all you saints!

Sing and be glad!

Dance and shout HALLELUJAH!

For the Lord is good!

As I ponder the wonders of

Our awesome Lord

I can’t help but feel humbled

By the many blessings

Our precious Lord has bestowed

On each and every one of us

I look around and see

The beauty of puffy white clouds

In an azure blue sky

I hear the twittering

Of many birds singing with joy

I smell the perfume

Of splendid blooms in all their glory

And I feel the precious love

Of each child I teach

As each of these things come to mind

I am reminded of the burden

That the Lord has placed upon me

I humbly bow and ask

For wisdom in the words I speak

Compassion for all around me

A new appreciation for all God has created

A fresh perspective on words I read

For joy to rise anew within my heart

To allow His love to shine forth

So that all I meet can clearly see

The mantle of my Lord all around me

With heartfelt gratefulness

I thank the Father for my life

And for those I meet

For His provision

Of my every need

For the beauty that surrounds me

And for His word that teaches me

But most of all

I thank Him for

The precious gift of Jesus

And that He loves each of us enough

To have sacrificed His only Son

Just to provide a way

That we may someday

Be reunited with our creator.

JEAN STORY

September 24, 2008

Oh the wonder of God’s love!

It descends like a dove

So gentle and soft

And stays there aloft.

It surrounds us with peace

And give us wondrous release.

He lets us abide there

While giving of a love that has no compare.

We as His children can in His lap

Climb up without fear of any mishap.

He as a Father holds His arms out wide

Saying, "Come, in My love you can abide.

I will be your protection and shield

And in the face of your enemy, I will never yield.

You are my child, my dear one.

I fought for you and won!"

So surrender your heart to my Lord.

He will always give His love in very sweet accord.

There's lots of things
With which I'm blessed,
My problems have been few,
But of all, this one's the best:
To have a friend like you

In times of trouble
Friends will say,
"Just ask, I'll help you through it."
But you don't wait for me to ask,
You just get up and do it!

And I can think
of nothing more
That I could wisely do,
Than know a friend,
And be a friend,
And have a friend like you

As for your dearest family
They'll be here later on.
I need you here so badly
As part of My big plan,
There's so much that we have to do
To help our mortal man.
Then God gave me a list of things
He wished for me to do,
And foremost on that list of mine
Is to watch and care for you.
And I will be beside you
Every day and week and year,
And when you're sad I'm standing there
To wipe away the tear.
And when you lie in bed at night
The days chores put to flight,
God and I are closest to you
In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on Earth
And all those loving years,
Because you're only human
They are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry
It does relieve the pain,
Remember there would be no flowers
Unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you
Of all that God has planned,
But if I were to tell you
You wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain
Though my life on Earth is o're,
I am closer to you now
Than I ever was before.
And to my very many friends
Trust God knows what is best,
I'm still not far away from you
I'm just beyond the crest.
There are rocky roads ahead of you
And many hills to climb,
But together we can do it
Taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy
And I'd like it for you, too,
That as you give unto the world
So the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody
Who is in sorrow or in pain,
Then you can say to God at night
My day was not in vain.
And now I am contented
That my life it was worthwhile,
Knowing as I passed along the way
I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody
Who is down and feeling low,
Just lend a hand to pick him up
As on your way you go.
When you are walking down the street
And you've got me on your mind,
I'm walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.
And when you feel the gentle breeze
Or the wind upon your face,
That's me giving you a great big hug
Or just a soft embrace.
And when it's time for you to go
From that body to be free,
Remember you're not going
You are coming here to me.
And I will always love you
From that land way up above,
Will be in touch again soon
P.S. God sends his love.

If Roses grow in Heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother's arms
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.

A BUTTERFLY LIGHTS BESIDE US.
"A butterfly lights beside us, like a sunbeam...
and for a brief moment it's glory
and beauty belong to our world...
but then it flies on again, and although
we wish it could have stayed,
we are so thankful to have seen it at all."

To My Dear Family
Some things I'd like to say,
But first of all to let you know
That I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven
Where I dwell with God above,
Where there's no more tears or sadness
There is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy
Just because I'm out of sight,
Remember that I'm with you
Every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you
When my life on Earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me
And He said I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again
You were missed while you were gone,
