Fannie Epps Obituary

Mrs. Fannie H. Winfield Epps, 94, of 3401 Dupuy Road, Ettrick, departed this life Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at John Randolph Medical Center. She was born Sept. 20, 1914, in Sussex County, to the late Waverly Harris and Gertrude Parham Harris.

She Joined Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age and later moved her membership to Galilee Baptist Church, where she served on the Deaconess Board, sang in the church choir and was most known for singing solos. Fannie was a member of the Petersburg Chapter # 33 Order of the Eastern Star.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, William Winfield Sr. and Willie Epps Sr.; two sisters, Evangelist Mary Starke and Betti (Basing Bettie) Harris.

Mrs. Epps leaves to cherish her memories two sons, William Winfield Jr. and stepson Willie Epps Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Joan F. Winfield; one stepdaughter, Ruth Epps Dennis; and one godchild, Elsie P. Fields; three grandchildren, Kyle W. Winfield, Travis Winfield and Tracey Winfield; two great-grandchildren, Elle J. Winfield and Eden J. Winfield; and two cousins; Eunice Lanier and Odell Parham. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, the Galilee Baptist Church family, the Jerusalem Baptist Church family and God's Missions Faith Church, Evangelist Virginia Graham, pastor. Our many, many thanks to the entire staff of Riverview on the Appomattox Nursing Home and Ms. Sylvia Dickens, her caregiver.

A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Galilee Baptist Church, Stony Creek, with the pastor, the Rev. Dr. Linwood James, officiating. The interment will be held at Dinwiddie Memorial Park, Dinwiddie. The family will assemble at the residence, 3401 Dupuy Road, at 9:30 a.m.

Hi,
Junior Winfield and Joan, I just heard of your loss I can witness the good old days.

You know boy they could really sing and I still remmember Basing Betti, wow we had so much fun.

I have got give OUR GOD ALL THE PRAISE for allowing us to enjoy Miss Fannie so long.

Man if we could go back to the Mother's Day Parades in Stony Creek.

I love you and wish I could be with you at this time.

Annie told me she saw you guys on the 4th Sunday at church.

Hang in there,I will stop by when I come back home.
