Thomas Dunn Obituary
From the very beginning, Wink was a fighter who overcame the many obstacles associated with his birth, and grew to be the beloved son, brother and friend, who would bring joy and laughter to all who knew him. He had an unbelievable zest for life, with his family at its center. Wink was a very strong young man who enjoyed a wonderful life and on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, exchanged that life for his reward in heaven.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William Andrews and Gertrude James.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his loving and devoted father and mother, Thomas and Mamie Dunn; two brothers, Darius "Pat" Dunn of Prince George, Va., and Lamar Dunn, of Anchorage, Alaska; paternal grandparents, Charlie and Odessa Dunn of Trenton, N.C.; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Weep not for Wink, instead rejoice and thank God for blessing us with the awesome joy of having, knowing, and loving such a wonderful you man. Though short the life he lived, his living was not in vain, as he was an inspiration to each and every life he touched.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 4405 Prince George Drive, Prince George, Va.; the Rev. Lamont Gooding, pastor, and the Rev. Charlie Dunn Jr., eulogist.
The family will assemble at 1:30 p.m. at 5203 Berkshire Drive, Hopewell, the day of the funeral services. The family may also be contact by calling (804) 481-1237.

Highway To Heaven
In this world problems face us each day,We hope and we pray that they just fade away.But the highway we're on never seems to go straight,And when things go wrong our hearts fill with hate.It's easy to gripe and complain about life,It's easy to dwell on the pain and the strife,But when things are hard we need to be strong,We need to trust God for His path's never wrong.We need to remember that life can be hard,Even Jesus suffered as His hands were scarred.He gave up His life for you and for me,He suffered and died so that we could be free.So when we are feeling like we can't cope,We should think of our Savior and be filled with hope.He gives us His strength when things go wrong,He's right here beside us making us strong. There will be times when our faith gets weak, It's on those times that His face we should seek.We should turn to our Father and thank Him again,For saving our souls and for easing our pain.Life can be hard, many trials we face,But someday I know I'll feel Jesus embrace.The highway I'm on is where I want to be,It's the highway to heaven, the right way for me.

A Little Is All You Need
My life is like a roller coaster,It has many twists and turns.So many choices face me each day,And I have many concerns.Some days I just don't know how to go on,So many problems hit me.I wish sometimes that life would slow down,Much easier that would be.
Up and then down, down and then up,Is how I live each day.Some days when I have more downs that ups,I'm ready to run away.I try to solve problems on my own,But nothing ever turns out.I get overwhelmed and frustration sets in,Then all I can do is shout.
I go for a walk to clear my head,I read to try to forget.I call a friend or watch T.V.I don't want to think, not yet.But as I am running I remember a verse,It echoes in my ear."Trust in the Lord with all your heart",I hear it so loud and clear.
Oh what am I doing running from God,Why, O why can't I trust?I say I'm a Christian and say I love God,By my Bible is covered with dust.Oh how I wish that my faith were stronger,I need His help to get through.I've tried it myself but all that I've found,Is despair and anger too.
So now I'm back at that question again,Why don't I just trust God?When trouble finds me why can't I say,"Help me, I need You God."Please give me peace and fill me with joy,I know You'll do that for me.Yet I am stubborn and don't come to You,Why don't I get on my knee?
I close my eyes and take deep breath,I feel You fill my soul.You're mending up my broken heart,And making me feel whole.You hold me in Your loving arms,Then whisper in my ear."I love you child, my precious child",I will always be here."

Child of God
Life is filled with challengeseach and every day.Frustrations get the best of meif I don’t take time to pray.But when I stop and talk to GodHe heals my broken heart.He holds me close and tells methat we’ll never be apart.For I am His and He is mine,I am a child of God.And He takes me as I amtorn and scared and flawed.He will not turn His back on meno matter what I face.He’ll stay and heal my wounded heartmy pain He will erase.Challenges face me all my dayssometimes I cannot cope.Questions always fill my mindand sometimes I lose hope.But when I stop and really thinkabout how much God cares.I know that I will be all rightdespite my deep despair.For I am His and He is mineHe never leaves my side.When I’m weak He carries methen in His arms I hide.I know the hard time will still comefor sin makes my heart flawed.But I will never lose my hopefor I’m a child of God.

A Child Loaned

The sun has set on your beautiful life, but there's no more pain, there's no more strife.
You'll walk a different path, you'll see amazing sights,with the holy king you 'll spend your days and your nights.
We wanted you to be here, selfishly we asked that you'd stay. But god knew better,he planned you a new way.
